Barcelona Pass

Barcelona Pass

A trip to Barcelona is synonymous with joy!

To better enjoy your holiday, without spending more than you should and making good use of the time available, the Barcelona Pass could be a valuable ally.

What is the Barcelona Pass

A tourist card that offers access to more than 20 of the city's main attractions and that also includes the hop-on-hop-off bus tour and a boat cruise to Las Golondrinas.

Compared to buying tickets for single admissions, saving can become interesting.

What does it include

Le attractions included (over 20) are not bad! They range from historic buildings to places of interest, from Art Galleries to museums, without forgetting, as we said, tours and cruises.

A free guide is also delivered with the pass, full of useful information on opening hours, maps and information about the city.

Here are 10 of the most popular attractions included in the pass:

  • Milá House (La Pedrera)
  • Casa Batllo
  • FC Barcelona Museum + Tour
  • House of the Punxes
  • Poble Espanyol
  • L'aquarium
  • Barcelona Zoo
  • Wax Museum
  • Boat cruise
  • Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour
  • Discover all the attractions included

Attractions can only be visited once within the validity of the pass. So if, for example, your children, after visiting the zoo, want to return a second time to greet some animal "their friend" (such as these slim gazelles), remember that this will not be possible with the Barcelona Pass.

Include the Sagrada Familia?

And the Sagrada Familia? Unfortunately, the entrance to the famous church is not included. The only pass to include it is the Barcelona City Pass.

Also transport they are not included, but can be added to the Barcelona Pass. In fact, at the time of purchase you can also add a Hola BCN to your cart! Travelcard, so as to take advantage of unlimited travel for a number of days equal to the duration of the pass (and with a small saving, compared to the purchase of the "loose" Travelcard).

How much it costs and days of validity (discounted until 6/02)

The Barcelona Pass exists in the version for adults and in that for children (from the 4 12 years, which must be accompanied by a document and always accompanied by the holder of an adult pass).

You can choose the pass da 2 consecutive days or from 3 consecutive days.

Prices for adults:

  • € 99,99 for 2 days (or € 115,19 if you add transport)
  • € 119,99 for 3 days (€ 142,19 adding transport)

For children:

  • € 67,99 for 2 days (€ 83,19 with transport)
  • € 79,99 for 3 days (€ 102,19 with transport)

It is correct to inform you that there are maximum values, referring to the admission prices to the attractions, after which the pass will lose its validity:

- with a 2-day pass an adult can visit a maximum of € 200 worth of attractions (and a child a value of € 150).

- with a 3-day pass, the thresholds are € 275 for each adult, and € 200 for each child.

How to use

The Barcelona Pass works through a scanning system and a barcode, which is activated with the first use (entry to an attraction).

Since the pass takes into account the calendar day and not the time, it is definitely preferable to activate it in the morning, to be able to take advantage of every day at 100%.

Where to buy it

You can buy the pass online from the official website, paying it by credit card or Paypal. In addition to the convenience of buying on the web, buying it online you can take advantage of a discounted price.

Buy it from the official website Alternatively, you can decide to buy the full-price pass directly in Barcelona at the Tourist Office at Palau Moja, C / Portaferrissa, 1, open from Monday to Sunday from 9.30 to 21.30. The closest metro is Liceu (L3).

What you receive at the time of purchase

By purchasing the pass online you decide to:

- pick it up directly in Barcelona, bringing with you the printout of the confirmation voucher that you will receive via email (this is a free option, therefore - in general - recommended!).

You will be given the pass together with your free guide.

The Redemption Center for the collection of the pass is the same office where you can buy the Pass in Barcelona (therefore, also in this case you will have to go to Palau Moja, C / Portaferrissa, 1, from Monday to Sunday from 9.30 to 21.30. Metro Liceu - L3).

or

- have it sent to you. Since, of course, you will have to face shipping costs in this case, we do not recommend this method, unless you have combined the Hola BCN with the purchase of your Barcelona Pass! Travelcard for transport.

In fact, since this also allows you to reach the city center from the airport, it will be good to have it already in your hands when you land in Barcelona.

Se instead buy the Pass directly in the city you will receive it immediately, together with the guide included in the price.

When is it convenient?

A card of this type is worthwhile when you are able to use it properly, that is, by visiting many attractions included - especially if they are expensive - and possibly reaching the "maximum value" of the pass, which we talked about earlier (see paragraph "How much it costs and days of validity ").

In our opinion, the three-day card is more advantageous, both in terms of purchase price and from the point of view of its usability: you can in fact choose the attractions to visit and enjoy them better, minimizing the famous "battles against time" to be able to see everything!

Do you even skip the lines?

For some attractions, yes, and at peak times, this is a nice convenience.

By showing your Barcelona Pass at the entrance, you can cross it without waiting in line.

This privilege is currently available to visit:

  • FC Barcelona
  • Aquarium
  • Poble Espanyol
  • La Pedrera

Does it also include public transport?

As already mentioned, at the time of purchase you can add a Hola BCN to your Pass! Travelcard which offers unlimited travel for the duration of the pass.

With this additional card, which covers all public transport networks in Barcelona, you can travel by metro, funicular, Montjuïc bus (TMB), local trains (FGC, Zone 1), regional trains (Rodalies de Catalunya, Zone 1).

The ride to and from the city center from the airport by metro is also included!

Comparison between the Barcelona Pass and the Barcelona Card

An alternative to the Barcelona Pass is the Barcelona Card, which exists in 3, 4 or 5 day versions, always for adults and children.

A different from the Barcelona Pass, this is a card that already includes public transport. It also offers free admissions and discounts for museums, cultural events, clubs, shops, restaurants.

As for activation, while the Barcelona Pass takes into account only the calendar day, and not the time, the Barcelona Card is valid from the time it is first used for a period of 72, 96 or 120 hours.

This feature is especially appreciated by travelers who arrive in Barcelona at "half day": they can easily start visiting the attractions in the afternoon, with their card, without "burning" a full day of validity!
