St. George's British School: what do users think?
Marinela Bendz: Upon choosing school for our 3 & 5yr old, we visited 14 schools in Barcelona, and this was the school that made us feel true love and care for the children. And now that we have started and been there for 6 months, we are so happy our guts were right. The teachers are amazing and our kids are so happy to go to school every single day. Thank you St. George, the amazing teachers and great management of this school, all employees seem so happy and energised to meet the kids every morning with a big smile. We appreciate you!
I want to tell you about my experience of communicating with this school. A child of 6 years old, can read fluently like an adult, write, count three-four-digit numbers, solve problems and examples, knows the multiplication table, was invited to a trial day at this school so that the management could make a decision on admission to the first grade. The level of knowledge of the child corresponds to the third grade of the Spanish school. The child does not have fluent spoken English, as he lived in another country. English. At the end of the trial day, the director in a harsh and incorrect form said that the child was not fit for school, he asked a lot and did not listen to the teacher. I do not recommend this school to anyone, in which the slogan on the site reads "Every child matters" As I understand it if a child interferes with a lesson, does not sit quietly, he does not belong in this school
David M: Three years of great experience with 2 kids in Early Years.
hk b: Our kids were in summer camp during July 2022. School is well organised and staff is friendly. Our kids were before in British College Gava (which they also loved, lots of outdoor space and a great atmosphere) and also in summer camp at British School Barcelona (BSB, which was really not a good school, we had a bad experience there and staff were arrogant, when we asked them why our 6 year old was playing in a deep pool without staff oversight, which frankly is risky. BSB didn't think that was such a problem, which is a bad attitude towards parents and not what one would expect to be told).
Mehran Sanei: We were very much looking forward to our four-year-old son starting his reception course at the beautiful St George's school. Our son was more excited than us and pleaded for us to go early so we would be the first one waiting by the gate every morning. After 2 weeks, things started to change. One day I received a call from the school asking if I knew where our son was! He had left school without them noticing. Luckily, my wife was outside the school early for the afternoon pickup and saw him leaving. This incident, and the thought of what might have happened, was shocking, but the response from his teachers was even more concerning. Both Miss Gilchrist and Miss Bailey blamed our four-year-old son for the incident and told us it happened because he doesn't listen to them! They never apologised. Miss Bailey said they would strengthen the security of the school to make sure this wouldn’t happen again, but if it did, that we should please bring him back to school. Miss Gilchrist, who was our son’s teacher at that time, set new goals for him to learn to listen, such as saying “Good morning” aloud every day. After that, our nightmare started…Our son started to resist going to school and would come out of school crying about not getting stickers. We sent several emails to Miss Gilchrist asking if she was giving stickers to everyone but our son as a punishment. She never replied to our questions. Soon after that, we were notified that our son had been moved to Miss Bailey’s class. At first, this seemed to be good news for us, but the situation got even more difficult. Our son started wetting his bed night after night. We were concerned, as our son had never had this problem before. According to Miss Bailey, this was a sign of physical sickness and nothing to do with the way he was treated at the school. At home, our son would repeatedly say that Miss Bailey was angry with him and that he was scared. Once he drew a big angry face and a very small dot next to it. He said that the angry face was Miss Bailey and the small dot was himself (the drawing is attached to this review). When we told Miss Bailey that our son was scared of her, she said: "It’s good to know he is taking me seriously!"We knew that we would have to change our son's school ASAP, regardless of the 3000 euros non-refundable registration fee, but we had another issue. Other private English-speaking schools would require a report from his previous school, and according to Miss Bailey, our son is a disobedient child who requires full time one-to-one support! As a result, other private schools would not take the risk of admitting him.We had no choice but to move back to Cambridge, UK.Fortunately, soon after our return to the UK, he started to become excited again about going to school. He loves his new teachers and new friends. His teachers are very happy with his interactions and his progress. And of course, no one-to-one support is required!
monia ougarram: Like a parents and family, we are very pleased with this school from the head teacher to professors and all the rest of the staff, my boy goes so happy every day and have learned English so well by far! This school is one of the best here in Barcelona and we really recommend it for all the families that are looking for a good school for their kids academically and personally.
Brandi Carrano: We are so grateful to have found St. George. After many years in Barcelona and 2 different schooling situations, we have found a place where all 3 of our children can thrive. The teachers are caring and treat the students as individuals while having high expectations for their growth. The leadership is FOR the students success, both personally and academically. The families are overall friendly, involved and diverse. Highly recommend this school to any international or local family looking for a school home.
Chris Oursbourn: We have two children that attend St. George and they both absolutely love it! The school prioritizes high level academics and balances that with wonderful staff members to help the children thrive. Both of our children are loved and cared for by the teachers and leaders of the school. They feel safe, seen and heard. They also are helping to grown their knowledge and learn both school skills and life skills. We believe that this school has been one of the best things that helped our children adjust so well with living internationally. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a bilingual school in Barcelona.
Andrea Lago Perdigones: Estoy encantada.
javier juango leon: I would like to congratulate all the teachers and staff at the school. Your dedication and hard work pays off and it shows in the results. My son is very happy at this school. This is one of the best schools in the city. There is no doubt about it .
Tania nuez lorenzo: You can see that the school has improved tremendously in recent years. My child's progress is excellent. Very well done!
Caye aez: Good service and very friendly people. They left me a few samples of different flavors and now I'm hooked!
Carol B: Excellent international school in Barcelona. Great involvement on the part of the teaching team, they strive to also teach values and make the children happy at school and happy. Very good feedback with the parents on the evolution of the children.
Princess Margaret School: what do users think?
sergio nuñez flores: Buen colegio y buenos profesionales
Me dejo secuelas psicológicas graves pero he salido adelante gracias a mi hermano mayor.
Boo Louis: We moved our 3 girls after one year (at considerable cost and disruption academically/emotionally). Advertises a “trilingual IB” education; it's no more than an average local school in an old house, pathetic outdoor facilities and the student body is primarily Catalan. English is taught by locals - kids have no reference of a proper English accent. This school churns through a revolving door of Anglophones and expats who are wooed by the super sales pitch but leave for the shocking reality. Most local parents could care less about an international IB program (the program used to hook the expats). I literally have no idea how they have secured an IB school status. The curriculum and methodologies are so far below the standards of our current school which runs a rigorous IB program. I would note that most of the 5 star reviews are the staff - especially on Facebook. Good grief.
sergio nuñez flores: Good school and good professionals
Maria Saiz: I am a former student of the school. The students who got bad grades were left aside, without pedagogical or psychological help, with how expensive school is. You couldn't even speak in class and if you asked a question they looked at you badly and sent you to the dictionary. Among the teachers, the bad atmosphere that existed between them was noticeable. My parents gave up their lives to be able to pay for it. The only good thing is the food. Poor cook Asun working in that hole. The teachers were arrogant with the children. I do not recommend it, if you have money to spare, yes, but it is better to invest it in a home or a trip. Thanks to medical treatment I have been able to fight for my survival. It left me serious psychological scars but I have gotten ahead thanks to my older brother. Today I suffer from severe depression from my childhood. But I am a fighter. I wish I had denounced back in the day but I was a kid. My parents worked hard for this school thinking that they would help me but they only wanted me to do it again to increase their pockets. Pepi and Federico, wonderful people. It is the same as all schools but with a little more hours of English. The bad atmosphere that existed among the students was disturbing, the hatred, the envy, the jealousy, the cheap rich children that everyone hates, reflections of our parents, of the families, really very sad. Thanks to this I will never have children. And I thank Janet, Alex, Gustavo, Silvia..... According to the latest report from the World Economic Forum, the Spanish education system is not doing well. It ranks 38 out of 137, falling behind Indonesia, Brunei, Costa Rica or Lebanon, among others. Our country is very far from the first three places, which are for Switzerland, Singapore and Finland -both countries obtain a 6.1 out of 7, while Spain remains at 4.5-.
Pedro Cabello moreno: I was in the one right next door. Graciela public school that currently no longer exists and has been abandoned for several years. They have boarded up doors and windows, I suppose so that squatters do not enter. I think I heard that it had merged with others schools in the area, but I don't know for sure.
Caye aez: Excellent school in Barcelona. The good quality of the teachers and the very friendly environment. The curriculum is very complete and the students grow very well. It is also a very good school to prepare for the IB exams.
Roblox con Ana!: Great educational level and excellent level of English
Pipiriganya: The teacher I had was horrible and incapable of teaching 10 people efficiently, just like him, the rest of the teachers seemed to only help a part of the class, leaving others with greater difficulties aside.
Carma Ayuso CLemente: I love working here, it is a great school with great values! Children are very well behaved and they are always supported, inspired and challenged by their teachers. If I had to choose a school it would definetelly be Princess Margaret International School!
José Sancha: Trilingual school, good teaching, expensive.
Carla Hernandez: I can only give good references to Princess Margaret School. The level of English that the children acquire is impressive, as is the educational project in accordance with the IB philosophy that focuses on student autonomy and instilling values that I consider basic for my children, such as integrity and solidarity, among others. In addition, the familiar treatment of all the school staff with the students is exquisite. I recommend it 100%!
esther camos: My experience at the Princess has been very positive. It is a school in which students learn human values, without forgetting the academic part in which they achieve a good level. Not to mention the level of English they leave with that allows them to face any future challenge. Highly recommended.
Enric Buhigas González: When I came to visit the school I was impressed by the educational project that they showed me. I was looking at various centers and Princess Margaret seemed to me to definitely meet my expectations. They have an educational project that focuses on the autonomy of the students, on being self-sufficient and thinking. The level of English when you walk around the school is impressive and the students speak it as their own language. The classes invite exploration and on the walls you can see a representation of what the students learn. It definitely seems to me a school with very well-trained teachers, with an educational project guided by the IB organization that is brilliant, and above all, the human quality in the relationship between teachers and students is noticeable. It caught my attention that the director knew all the names of the students and that showed me that being a small school allows a closeness between adults and students that other centers do not have. Very grateful for the visit and I definitely think I will make the best choice.
Jose Espinola: I came to visit the school last year and I found it very welcoming and with facilities that, although small, are very well used and with great pleasure. The attention was excellent and the explanation of his international educational project was very interesting. Due to family logistics, in the end we have not been able to, but I would not hesitate to belong to the school as a family. Thank you for the treatment received, you have an exemplary program and the values that you prioritize seem to me to be the most important in the new generations: an open and tolerant mentality, a critical spirit and a high level of English to be able to communicate with the entire planet. We will be in contact for the future if our situation changes, we will count on your project.
Raúl Hernández (guitar): A perfect place 👌 to learn languages, including English 😉👍

Vynnie: The best school I went to, I improved my English a lot, highly recommended!
javier garcia: A great school, without a doubt highly recommended and very grateful for the treatment they gave me. A very family atmosphere
L. Molina: Great school, just what we wanted for our daughter's education and she is happy every day, the staff is wonderful and the facilities are more than adequate for a school of her size, a very familiar atmosphere, we recommend it 100%.

Escola Suïssa de Barcelona: what do users think?
oriol nacher: No me gusta
Indigo Bucher: are very happy and can already speak decent German now. when visiting my family in Zurich, they are astonished by how fast they have learned German.I am Swiss born, but never spoke German with my children. At home we speak English.(Traducido por Google
oriol nacher: I don't like
Rosa Franco Mendoza: The building is spectacular, with very good lighting... from 1919 until now a reference school in Barcelona
Montse: My son entered this school with the lure of languages. Management and teachers convinced of their supposed superiority that they exercise mercilessly over other non-Swiss teachers and especially over students. Useless dialogue, since for them nothing can improve. Pride is sometimes rude.It is convenient to know that the German they teach is the one spoken in Switzerland, from which they leave with a good level. And that English must be improved by other means.
Los Mundos locos: My son goes to this school
nca acn: Expensive school but worth it. They learn subjects in German from the beginning. Very good atmosphere. And on top of that, they learn Spanish, because in Catalonia, to learn it, you have to go to a school like this one because everything is Catalan, public and subsidized.
Emilio: .
Indigo Bucher: Languages are the door openers of the future, in this Swiss School they will graduate with FIVE languages! The reason we moved from Lanzarote to Barcelona over one year ago, was because of the reputation of the Swiss school, and the exceptional leadership of there principal, Pascal Affolter and there great team.Always trying to find ways to improve educational values with the cooperation of the the Swiss government, especially the Canton Bern. Our two children Ocean and River (6 and 10) are very happy and can already speak decent German now. when visiting my family in Zurich, they are astonished by how fast they have learned German.I am Swiss born, but never spoke German with my children. At home we speak English.

Escuela Internacional (IB®) Zürich Schule Barcelona: what do users think?
Estudio Vermer: The best educational home our daughter has had from 2 to 16 years old. It has made her a brilliant student, prepared, with languages, but it has also made her happy, with values, and ultimately, a good person.
Cristina Caballero Cros: Exquisite attention and professionalism towards our children.
Tania Ortiz de Jorge: The school has an incredible teaching team. Committed teachers with a great teaching vocation. The academic level is excellent and emotionally too. The level of German is high, which makes it a reference school for learning this language. The methodology they use is very well designed and studied and they are always in constant training to adapt and offer a quality education to students. A lot of work is done for the well-being and coexistence between students, in turn, effort, responsibility, commitment and collaborative work are also promoted. As it is a small school, the learning pace of each of the students is taken care of and respected, and the attention offered to them is totally personalized. Our son is simply happy at this school. I wish we would have discovered it sooner. It only takes two courses but the results are more than satisfactory academically and emotionally. An important fact is also that the school takes families into account and creates a collaboration between the family and the school that favors the learning process.
María Elisa García Fuster: My 12 year old daughter is happy. They care about them apart from the teaching quality.
Germano Guggino: It is a school where there is a high academic level and at the same time the children receive family attention. Multiculture is everyday life. The teaching and administrative staff are always available and friendly to answer any questions.
Stefanie: Familienbetrieb mit Herzen geführt. Weiter so!
Juliana Pometti: We are more than happy with the Zurich school. Our son has adapted very well and has had the support and understanding of the entire faculty.
Pablo Mena: Very grateful to the school, our son learned a lot, made friends and we returned to Ecuador very happy for the treatment we received; thanks to everyone at school for being as good as Julian
Teresa Monreal: Very familiar, welcoming, close and professional school. I am delighted with them and the treatment received! 😊
Marcio Lima: Value and positive human treatment
Yumi Sakuma: Education is one of our most important life priorities for our children. We are extremely pleased with Escuela Internacional Zürich Barcelona. It is an extension of our family house, where culture and values are aligned. Our children are treated, educated as one and each with his/her personalities and potential. They are not numbers. They are citizens, human beings being prepared for life and living.
Manu A.: We are very happy with the education our children receive. Close teachers, international content. But the most important thing is that they teach them to think.
Yo recomiendo esta escuela.(Translated by Google
Magaly Lopez: Very happy with the academic and human education that my daughters received. Being part of this school is being part of that great family made up of its directors and teachers. 100% recommendable!

Veronica Hernandez Meijide: Fantastic team, we couldn't have better teachers for our children! After an atypical year, in which they have made a great effort. Thank you very much 😘
Belen Lopez: It is an excellent school, with a totally personalized pedagogical project

Escola Internacional Benjamin Franklin: what do users think?
Bea Zimmermann: I have two children at BFIS that have been attending for the past 4 years and I am very happy with the quality of the education they are receiving and the international friends they have made.
Tessie Sylvain CROUZAT: We are 100% satisfied with our choice of BFIS as school for our child. My son is delighted to go school every morning. The goodwill and dedication of the school staff in all areas of school life is commendable.
Luke Latchman: Quite Frankly (ha) As a freelancer who works in many different schools this has the best cantine food I’ve ever eaten in a workplace! The variety is exceptional. I’m also a huge fan of the schools eco friendly systems and welcoming staff. Had a fantastic time here!
Marisa Star: Great school, current/relevant curriculum, attentive and friendly administration and staff. Best of all, BFIS is made of a diverse group of expats who bring a sense of community to our daily life in a foreign country.
patrick c: We moved to Barcelona two years ago from Atlanta GA in the US. Really happy with BFIS. I think there have been only two days this academic year that my 7th grade daughter has not responded "great" when asked how her day was. The education is great, the teachers are really caring, and the administration is very good at being responsive. The students are from a wide variety of nations and background, and are really open and welcoming of newcomers. A tiny handful of families are currently complaining because the school is stopping the French program, but there were only a tiny number of students taking French -- not enough to be able to offer a quality program, so I think the school's decision was right.
Tracy Miller: The people who run this school don't seem to realize that BFIS is a foundation and not a corporation. Eliminating history, languages, and music, paying teachers poorly, and hiring inexperienced teachers so that we have to ask for tutoring, eliminating subjects without informing parents, wanting to put students from two buildings into one instead of renting additional modules while there is a profit of 5 million, it's not right. Wanting to pay for a building that will be amortized in 50 years, sacrificing the quality and education of those of us who are here now, doesn't make sense. The loss of families resulting from these decisions will be seen in the coming years. The worst part is the authoritarian style of the management and the Board. They think that parents don't have the right to participate in the school's decisions. Sending a survey and saying that decisions are made based on the survey is insulting our intelligence. The way they behave, the lack of respect for families, the use of the PTA to silence parents who wanted to make public the changes happening in the school, and the lies told by the management have been so serious that we are leaving and of course, we don't recommend it. By the way, we are still waiting for the refund of the enrollment fee that was charged before announcing the elimination of subjects. The atmosphere being generated in the school is unbearable.
Sharon Speckman: BFIS its not just a School. It has been home for our 2 kids and also for us parents. After 6 years I can say the best thing the school has is their teachers and the strong community of parents which is rare to find anywhere else. I'm happy the school has been updating, improving and changing to adapt itself to the rapidly changing world focusing on what is important to prepare our kids for the future. My kids are very happy and learning in ways that make me wish I could go back to school again.
A Lewis: We transferred our 2 boys to BFIS in the fall of 2020 and it was one of the best decisions we have made with regards to our children's educations. They are both happy and thriving, and that is in no small part due to the quality of the teachers and staff that dedicate so much of their time and energy to the school. I've watched both my kids evolve into conscientious students with curious minds that will serve them the rest of their lives. And it goes beyond education - they are also learning the value of being respectful, fair and kind. The leadership of the school should be commended for constantly seeking ways to further improve the educational experiences of the students and prioritizing the needs of the whole community.
yucg76: Our daughter started at BFIS in September 2019 in kinder, and we're very happy with the school. It's a genuine, warm community where the kids feel nurtured -- but also challenged and pushed to excel, both academically and socially. Our daughter is thriving, and that's all we can ask for.
Alison Deldicque: Our three boys were high school age when we moved to BFIS. It was important for us to select a school with a strong IB program. Fortunately, we made the right choice. BFIS has a top notch college counselor and IB Coordinator. The consistent IB scores speak for themselves. Our two sons were accepted to their top US college choice. Very grateful. Keep up the good work BFIS!
Marc Vroom: My kids started at BFIS in September 2019 and there has not been one day that they did not wanted to go to school. The leadership team is doing a great job. It is not easy to make tuff decisions but I know as they are parents at the school as well that they only take these decisions to improve the learning of our children. Your children going happy to school and having good notes is all a parent can wish for.
Jennifer Gibbs: The school has amazing and dedicated staff who are committed to students. My children love coming to school!
Scott Main: I really like the faculty and leadership at this school. When our child had a health issue last year, the school bent over backwards to ensure our child was able to stay up to speed on their homework. When our child returned to school this year, the teachers and counselor were so accommodating and flexible to meet our child’s needs, we were very grateful. The school tries to make decisions that are representative of the majority of the school which isn’t always popular but I strongly feel they are all doing the best based on information available. I can also rate the teachers high as well. When we go to parent teacher conferences it is obvious they really know our child.
Peter Krupa: Absolutely love this school. We enrolled our son in seventh grade last year, coming from a big public school in the US, and he has thrived. Every morning he is happy to go to school, which is a real shift! The pace of learning is good, the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and he has made plenty of friends. There was a decision recently to phase out the French foreign language program that has rubbed some parents the wrong way, if you were wondering about all the one-star reviews. Seems like a tough but reasonable choice to me, given that there's only about 20 students taking French across all the grades, but a small group of parents has gotten VERY worked up over it and are smearing the school over it in irate negative reviews. I guess everyone is entitled to their opinions, but the comments about the director being arrogant are way out of line and actually laughable if you know her. Really sweet, warm woman who believes in this school and is working hard to balance all the different needs and interests. Some people just like to pick fights and make up villains I guess. imo if they're that mad and hate her so much they should find a different school, most parents are very happy with BFIS.
henriette nakah: - They have eliminated French from the school.- How did you know?- I saw a poster made by the students informing of the decision and asking for help to change it. The Head of School took 15 days to realize she should inform everyone.- Did she eventually do it?- She sent a newsletter with an image saying "Bonjour" and informing that "the availability to choose French would change."- She held a meeting with all the parents one month after.- The meeting was held on by more than 80 members. She didn't answer any questions on the face-to face-meeting and ended the meeting 40 minutes early.- Did she answer by email?- Yes, she said that if you don't like it, you can leave.- The Head of School said they were going to introduce another language.- It was a lie. They are not going to introduce any language. She said it to divide the parents' opinions.- They say it in the school's strategic plan.- No, it's not there. That's a lie.- They did a survey with the parents and asked about it.- No, they didn't ask. That's a lie.- The school offers three languages: Spanish, Catalan, and English.- Not all students take all languages, and none of them are considered foreign.- It's incompatible with introducing the IB in secondary school.- No, it's not. That's a lie. Other international schools with the IB program and the same average score in the IB diploma as BFIS in Barcelona offer Spanish, Catalan, English, and French from the age of 10 to 16.- There aren't that many students taking French.- It's a poorly organized subject. Only those who choose French in 6th grade can continue taking it at initial level, and those who do cannot take other easier and more dynamic electives. Even with that, more than 80 students are directly affected, and all those who can no longer study a foreign language.-There is not place in the new schedule.- We proposed to move French from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm after school hours?-Why she didn't accept?- Because she doesn't want to.- I heard they introduced more electives.- Only in HS and with an additional charge to the monthly fee.-But the students are going to do more art, design and tecnology.-No, that isn’t true. It is also a lie.- What about the parents' association?- The PTA organizes parties with our money. Apparently, their mission is not to encourage dialogue.- What does the Board at BFIS say?- They say they don't get involved in day-to-day decisions and that parents cannot ask them to get involved.- But isn't it their obligation to supervise the work of the Head of School?- That's what we thought.- It seems like there's no money.- Well, they have a cash of 4.7 million.- It seems more like a bank than a foundation. Shouldn't they invest in educational quality?- They should.- Who channels the parents' concerns about these decisions?- Nobody.- Who chooses the principal?- The Board.- Who chooses the Board?- The Board itself.- Who represents the parents in the school's decisions?- Nobody.- It seems like French has uncovered more than one problem at BFIS.- That's what it seems like.RIP CommunityRIP InternationalRIP Respect.
Marina Ayelo: The decision to eliminate French not only affects 20 families but the entire school. In the support group alone, there are more than 90 families, and there are over 80 students currently learning French or willing to learn next year. It also affects those who now do French in MS and HS and those who don't. It affects all of us, from primary to secondary school. Many of us chose the school because of the possibility that our children could study a foreign language in MS or HS, and now they change it without the slightest debate. This is not the way to do things in a school that talks so much about community. It also affects quality. Why does the school have to remove subjects from the curriculum instead of adding them? Now it was already possible to choose art or technology if you didn't want to do French. Why can't families keep choosing? Furthermore, at the same point they are removing French from the curriculum, the only electives they are incorporating require an extra payment of 750€ per semester.A school in Barcelona of this level should not give up the possibility of offering a foreign language. I have to say that the French students have had to put up with the school's neglect in this subject, which has been abandoned without investment and with an obsolete program. All public and private schools in Catalonia are offering French as a foreign language, as well as Spanish, Catalan, and English. All international schools offering IB also offer French until Y10, plus Spanish, Catalan, and English (bilingual). The worst part is the way this was done. They have only enumerated reasons, such as not having enough space in the schedule, changing and adding some when parents answer with a solution. Families have been lied to and treated with arrogance. Both the background and the forms are a shame on this way to treat the families. The pity is that we have to debate this on Google because the management and the Board have closed any possibility of rethinking such a critical, strategic and controversial decision.
K B: I was alerted by a parent chat group I'm in about the 1 star reviews on here due to the recent decision to eliminate French. I am a parent at the school and am 100% in favour of the changes because it allows for more art, design, and technology classes, which - to me - are far more critical skills for my children to learn in a school environment. The school offers three languages already, and if I want my kids to take a 4th language, I can get a tutor or make other arrangements.Change is hard, but it is necessary as the world is changing rapidly around us. I am grateful that BFIS is responding to these global changes by making changes in the curriculum. I think there are only something like 20 or so students impacted by the decision to eliminate French, so this is not an issue that impacts the vast majority of BFIS families, though clearly a controversial one for the families whose students are enrolled in French. It would be wonderful to offer multiple additional languages, but there is only so much time in the day and many subjects to learn. With all of that said, this family is very pleased with BFIS and highly recommend it. My kids are so happy there; they have made excellent friends and enjoy the diverse extracurricular activities offered, and are challenged academically but not overwhelmed. I like the focus and alignment with 21st century learning and am very impressed with the changes I’ve seen in this regard over the last year or so.
Cristina Reventos: We are very disappointed with the way the school's management and Board treat families, make decisions, and communicate them. It has been very unpleasant to attend meetings where we were lied to or where reasons were improvised for a decision that got out of hand. Eliminating the only foreign language in the school has not been the only surprise. The loss of teachers due to the management's arrogant attitude is also a consequence of losing the spirit of the school. We hope it is not too late for a deep reflection.
Rachel Cross: My cousin did not fit them well here. Luckily her parents changed her school.
Edu Monrós: The choice of the director of the school has been especially wrong as the attitude of the Board. Adopting controversial decisions and pretending that families do not ask for explanations is authoritarian. The attitude is one of arrogance and arrogance. Far from representing families in common concerns before the Board, the PTA is limited to organizing parties and events with the money from family fees. The BFIS has ceased to be an international school and has emptied the Community of meaning.
Manning Warren: My daughter has loved her first year and has just started high school! Very supportive board, management, teachers, and staff.

Ona Flores: My son loves this school. This will be his second year at BFIS and he is looking forward to it. BFIS has rekindled his love for learning. Many thanks to the leadership, staff and the whole BFIS community for building such a caring learning environment for kids. A parent cannot ask for more.

Kensington School: what do users think?
After consultation from the education authority of Barcelona, such school has no permit to admit the students who obtain the Spanish nationality, of which is very rare for one so called international school even can’t admit the local student, it’s the first time for me to meet such strange school. But while I and my husband were talking with the staff of the school about the admission of my daughter, no one told us that policy, it’s one school hasn’t the enough credit to let the parents feel unworried , because we almost violate the local related regulations to let my child study in Kensington , the personnel of the education authority told us that as the parents of Spanish should know the law and let their children to study at one school that has the permission to receive the Spanish students. So dangerous to touch Kensington school that almost let us be involved with the admissions ilegal, the worst experience here .
Nicholas Roberts: Quite simply the best international school in Barcelona.
Lemon N: The school is great!
Paco Wang: Had seen the related comments about the problem of headlice, my friends’ child also studied at Kensington, they also found their kids had the serios problem of itching, according to mail of school , there are the lice eggs o lice in the kids’ hair , at that moment I also felt very shocked that even there was one school with such bad sanitary condition .
This is the international school that should be the worst one I have met in Barcelona, at least for the level of administration for Junior pupils .My grandson was studying in their junior school, and this term that administrative teacher of Junior required all the early years pupils who were only 6-7years old to change their uniforms frequently in one day , it meant that the kids must bring at least two o three suits of uniforms to school and must change them during the one same day two o three times , even in the cold winter . Their reason for this requirement was help the kids to develop the responsibility earlier. The problems began to appear, firstly they asked the children to change uniforms but there weren’t enough facilities to them, because the school is so small that absolutely there aren’t the formal changing rooms for the kids, what’s more, there weren’t enough teachers arranged to monitor and help the kids to change their clothes securely. As result of these , one day while my grandson was changing his uniform in that small room , one of his classmates tricked him as the form of turning off the light of room and close the door, my grandson was blocked in the darkness for almost 5-6 minutes without any help, after that my grandson told me that he was very scary and even cried in darkness because without help in the so-called changing room.If there are not enough facilities, why do let the kids to make this unnecessary changing in one same day? If there are not sufficient teachers to manage , why let the kids to be closed in the darkness?I think the answer only known by that junior administrative teacher who I think is absolutely amateur to work as his position to administer the early years kids.
Victor Sze: We really doubt whether the administrative teachers for their Junior ( early yeas pupils management) could be professional and responsible enough to maintain every pupils secure in the school. My son had studied at this school for almost two years for primary study, the early years pupils study is named junior there, in fact for the teachers who are in charge of teaching are attentive to the kids, though their age are a little bit elder .But for the teachers who are in charge of administration of Junior , I don’t think they are enough responsible for the pupils, because recently there were three unhappy incidents continuously happened to my son by the same boy , according to the related definitions of education department, if some unkind incidents continuously and repeatedly happened during period, it could be defined as school bullying, in addition, as the comments of the teaching teacher of my son’s class , that boy in one day by the morning and afternoon had created two very unkind behaviour towards my son , after that we tried to communicate with those administrator of junior , but they reply us as these were “minor conflicts “, so ridiculous that in one school even there were two absolutely opposite judges to one thing, possibly those administrators teachers always think everything could be ignored if only every pupils could be “happy” actually stable in their school. Please allow me say that if they truly want to make the kids healthy study and grow up in their school, they should facing the problem seriously and seek more effective communication between different parties instead of always intend to obstruct the communication. Finally under they so called “responsible management “ , at the same day by the morning that administrative teacher reply me “ everything are resolved “ but ridiculously by the afternoon, my son’s head was pushed over and bumped his head on the hard ground, and even no one phone call notification, we just know he was hurt the head after class from the mouth of my son.Above was the real experience of our family in this school , the indifferent attitude of their administrative teachers is very desfavorable to their management qualities and sometimes it would increase the risk to the kids , the only way for us to stop the continuing “accidents “ is changing the school for my son !
Fatima Jamshed: Extremely competent teachers and rich in diversity. The best international school in Barcelona.
Dmytro Mishchuk: Studied here in 90s.Greeting to all my classmates and teaches.Special greeting to Mr. Paul Edward Giles from student who still remember his jokes after more than 20 years passed.

St. Peter's School, Barcelona: what do users think?
Samuel Kane: The food is great at this school
Christine Graziano: Our son, age 10, who was visiting from the United States and a potential incoming student in Grade 6, had a really wonderful time during his week at camp in June. The staff and counselors were welcoming and friendly and he came home each day very satisfied and looking forward to the next one. He said he was surprised at how many friends he made in such a short time. I felt the camp met him with where he was at as an individual and challenged him in new ways while keeping everything fun. Highly recommend. Our son told us he would like to return next summer and until he graduates from high school!
Rachel Ocallaghan: I am a student from Ireland and I completed my internship in this great school. I enjoyed every single second of it and can not talk highly enough about my experience within this school. The staff welcomed me in with open arms which made my time so much easier and this allowed me to gain a lot more from this experience as a whole. It was a pleasure to be able to witness the love and care that the staff here display on a daily bases towards the students. My internship here is an experience that I will never forget.
Rachel Cross: I'm really excited to share my thoughts about the School where my kids go. It's been such a great experience for us! The school has an amazing way of teaching, and my kids have learned so much. They don't just focus on technology, but also on doing fun projects and activities that make learning exciting. But what I love most about the School is how much they care about my kids as individuals. They don't just want them to be smart, they want them to be good people too. The school encourages kindness, leadership, and being responsible. They offer lots of different activities like clubs and community service projects, so my kids have the chance to try new things and grow. The teachers and staff at the school are so supportive. They take the time to get to know each student and help them with whatever they need. They understand that not every kid learns the same way, so they make sure to teach in a way that works for my kids.Overall, I couldn't be happier with the St. Peter’s School. It's a caring and supportive place that has helped my kids grow both academically and personally. I feel grateful that my kids have the chance to go to such a great school.Edit: I am often asked about the food and I have to say my kids love it. There is and excellent chef that gets on very well with all the students and satisfies any particular need they ask for.
Molt recomanable
Joaquim Palomares: I was a student in this school for the whole of my Primary and Secondary Education and I have to say that I couldn’t have studied in a better place. Not only did I learn good basic concepts and solid structures that have been forefront in my superior education, but I also made such good friends who have now become a pillar in my life.No doubt, I would recommend it to whoever wants to offer their child a global strong education!
Tatiana Paes: My 2 kids have been attending St. Peter's since we moved to Barcelona and our family is extremely happy with the school! Since the admissions process we felt welcome and we could already tell there was something special about the St Peter's community. They really have a great curriculum, facilities, and programs but what differentiates them from other schools are the warm teachers and staff. Everyone knows everyone and you can really feel like you are connected and part of a big family. I highly recommend this school, especially if you are relocating to Barcelona and looking for a smooth transition.
Carmen Lecumberri: Excelente colegio a nivel académico y humano.
Fiona a: A great school! I did my internship at St. Peter's, and I am thankful for all the experience I gained. The teachers were always supportive and included me a lot, so I could get an even better insight. Also, they were sympathetic and thoughtful about each child.
Ravenvinyl vinilo: I had an interview to take my son to this school, but a supposedly English school that the one who interviews you doesn't speak English well makes you wonder, I didn't like his attitude either...
Oscar Salvadó: I have had the opportunity to see the center and both the facilities and the teaching staff seemed great to me. All the doubts that arose were answered kindly and something that I liked is that the teachers that I met, you could tell that they enjoyed their work with the students, something that is later reflected in their attitude and desire of learning. Very grateful for the attention received
ashraf Mekky: They are very unprofessional, the only thing I can say is the owner's lack of dedication,Depending on what we know, all the directors of the school tell him things and he acts without knowing anything, he speaks very little English
Soufian Maymouni: All 5 stars are from teachers, don't trust them. And they delete the negative comments... bad we go
Javier P.: Private school in the upper area of Barcelona with English as the vehicular language. We played a basketball game against their junior team and they didn't have any kit to play the scheduled game at the Consell d'esports de Barcelona. Very bad image for that school, they looked like a band. Some playing with jeans, others with tracksuits... A pity for a school that surely takes great care of its image and aesthetics vs. the fees that parents must pay for schooling in this center. The facilities very good. By the way, the management of the school just replied to my review after a year. It can be said that "fast" are not. Ha ha ha
Marcos Pino: When we moved to Barcelona we visited all the international schools in the area. We were convinced by the atmosphere we saw among the students when visiting St. Peter's. Now my children have been at St. Peter's for 4 years and I can add that the dedication of the teachers is incredible, I am impressed by how well they know my children and how they help them. Whenever a problem arises, be it academic or personal, they give it the necessary attention and put all the means to solve it.Academically I hallucinate with what my children do in class. There are topics that coincide with what I am doing in my company.
Lídia Perera: The best school in Spain 2023 according to Forbes. The best school in dedication to the students, in working on values, in preparing people to build a better future and in training them in teamwork. It is not only about the excellence they achieve year after year at an academic level, but also about their ability to accompany the students on that path.St. Peter's ensures that its students feel engaged, motivated and excited about their education.St. Peter's has former students who are proud of their time at the school and grateful for the preparation and education received.
silvia ramón-cortés: I work as a communication consultant for St. Peter's School and I can confirm that they care about their students, families and teachers and that they always seek to improve in all areas of the school. They are open to new proposals and dedicate resources to ideas that can improve the student or family experience.
ESTHER MARTÍNEZ SERRANO: I am delighted with the training and values that my children are receivingAn exceptional school in every way
Carmen Lecumberri: Excellent school at an academic and human level. Many thanks to the entire St Peters community
Carol Balmaseda: I studied there and I loved itThe teachers are the best, they helped me a lotMy children will study there

English Academy Santa Claus: what do users think?
AMG: The school offers a good balance of traditional values, high quality education and fun. There is a family atmosphere and the children feel supported by the staff and teachers. The children are happy and enjoy learning English at this lovely school.
Amanda Franquet Piferrer: Fabulous school! Teachers and Miss Arola (the director) go above and beyond for the kids. The children feel like being part of a big family. Would definitely recommend. High level academically speaking, native english teachers and bright education skills of the professors.
Le Filo: We have 2 children at the school and really love it. The standard is very high when it comes to education, my youngest is in kinder and is already reading confidently thanks to the great staff. We moved from Germany in 2020 and our eldest was starting 1st grade, he was behind academically in comparison to the other children that had been attending the school since reception. The director - Miss Arola - has been a key figure in helping our son catch up, she has been incredibly supportive of our children, especially out eldest who needed more help and guidance with adjusting to school life. The values of EASC are pretty old school and some elements like uniform may seem a little strict. But underneath it all is a family school that cares about the pupils and really wants to see the children doing their best. The school has a very good mix of local and international families, all very friendly and pretty open minded, so there is always someone to chat to outside the school gates. We will be sad when it's time for the kids to start high school.
Daniel Sala: Perfect learning environment for kids with a great English level
Isabel Torras Lombana: I visited the school for possible options for my child! We were welcomed and treated as family. The level of English is top notch. I love the attention that they have for each student and the families.
Dora Castella Daga: EASC has a very high academic and demanding level. The children leave very well formed in knowledge, respect and values. My son has been in this school for more than eight years and has a great knowledge of the three languages and other subjects. But most importantly, he has been very happy in this center. I totally recommend it!
Abighai MCM: A MI HIJA DE 3 AÑOS Y LA DIRECTORA LA DISCULPO DICIENDO QUE TODOS ALGUNA VEZ PIERDEN LA PACIENCIA! OBVIO SAQUE A MI HIJA INMEDIATAMENTE, UNA PSICOLOGA QUE TRABAJO AHI ME COMENTO QUE ES UN REGIMEN MUY SEVERO Y NADA CORRECTO! QUE FUE LO MEJOR SACARLA DE AHI!(Translated by Google
Manuel Navarrete Almengor: Excellent school, I like the discipline it teaches the students, my kids have been attending for 1 and 3 years and we are very happy with the results, and my daughter who is 4, is already starting to speak English fluently despite the fact that we're a Spanish native family. I like the fact that there are kids that their parents are from other countries like the UK, the US, India, Italy, China, Ukraine, Lithonia, Panama, etc. Another thing that I also liked was when I noticed that there are a lots of students who are kids from ex-students, and that says a lot about the sort of school is, because if you considered that school is not good, you'd never enroll your kids here, right?. And they trust in the school as their parents did. The principal is the daughter of the founder of the school and I have noticed that she is very committed with the principles of respect, equality, discipline, zero bullying, zero racism, zero political biases.
Vegan JuJu: This is the worse school my children have ever been to. I do not understand the name either because children do not speak good enough English, when leaving the school. They are extremely strict, old school way of thinking, very click-ish, and the principal is something else. The principal didn't like the parents texting eachother, to communicate over our children's education. They were very unprepared for covid and online learning. My children would dread going to school and today, love going to school. If you are seeking a school that will challenge your kids academically go elsewhere, it was only a lot of busy work.My child ended up developing stress over how strict they were. They yell at students and even the principal yells, probably more than teachers to the point of tears. We experienced bullying and they did nothing.
Marc Roma: An excellent school, very good education and expectations for the future for the children, since they leave with a very good level of English. The facilities are perfect and the teachers are all very professional.
Nina Geary: Very happy with the school! I took my children there and they have come away very well prepared for their future studies. The facilities are very well maintained and the garden is very pretty. Being a smaller school it is very familiar and homely. The location is very nice because of the street it is on, which is a very nice and quiet street.
Montse: I would take my children to this school again. I share the opinion of the majority regarding their responsible education, the culture of effort, self-esteem and self-improvement. The academic and linguistic level is optimal.I also agree that the facilities can be greatly improved and that the administration is somewhat erratic. The teachers have changed, of course. It is that there cannot be another Miss Smith in life.
SantGervasi Scores: Terrible facilities and non-existent management, my son went to this school until we found out that they spend more than half a school day in the playground, breaking the school regulations. As if that weren't enough, the school management uses the school yard to leave their dogs on weekends as if it were a pee and then our children play in that sand... It really is unacceptable that things like this happen.
Sergio Marsal: Our son has attended EASC for 2 courses, it has been a great experience for him and his development and academic level have improved significantly during this period. The management of the center and the teachers have been very aware of both the adaptation of our son and his curricular improvement. We are very grateful for the effort and professionalism shown.
Pedro Aliaga Laveda: My son Daniel studied at this school and we are very happy, his level of English has been excellent and it has opened doors for him all over the world. It is a highly recommended school with a very high academic level. I would enroll my son again without hesitation.
Louise Ravelo: High quality educationA great place for students to learn english. The teachers and staff foster a good balance between learning and play. The result is happy, thriving, children that enjoy learning. HIGHLY RECOMMENDE
D: Beautiful environment, GREAT teachers and TOP management. Only a few students per class, so teachers can focus on the them making sure they get all the attention needed. In my humble opinion, the best english school in town. A great example of professionalism.
Georgina Armengou: Excellent school, my daughter finished sixth grade and my son is still there. They leave very well prepared in all subjects and with the plus of English. Great human team that knows each student perfectly. A great choice that I would definitely repeat.

English School Barcelona: what do users think?
Marc: Great school, as a teacher who has worked here, I can say that they have excellent specialized and well-prepared teachers. They also have really professional, very attentive and friendly receptionists. The number of students is small, so they give extra personal attention and really care about the students and are flexible with the different situations of the families. They also have a wide variety of original ideas, they have a lot of teaching material and they learn and speak 4 different languages: Catalan, Spanish, English (a very high level of teachers and students) and French (they have an extraodinary french teacher). If I ever have kids I would definitely bring them here.
Alexis Charbeneau: v happy here w our 4 year old year 2 and we couldn't have better things to say about the kindergarten program and teachers and accommodating all types of situations and needs
Pili Salas Moreno: Mi trabajo
Blanca Moreno Silano: I am a student at this school and I think it is fantastic, I have made many friends and all the teachers are very friendly, highly recommended👍
Sat Polar: Much more than a school. Emotional intelligence, sincere affection for students, positive values, an extension of the family for children.
James Morphy: My daughter complains about the teachers.
laura pignataro: Terrible, the way of teaching classes is super old-fashioned, there is nothing in English since they focus on Catalan, small groups, yes, but if the child is not the same as the others, they put him aside.Terrible experience with this school, so much so that my son does not want to know anything about them and he is only 7 years old.
Pili Salas Moreno: My job

Col·legi SIL: what do users think?
JORDI ROMEU i PALOP: Una bona escola amb bones instal·lacions. Ubicada en la zona alta de Barcelona
Mayuri Tagare Mirji: Amazing School! We came to Barcelona with our 4 year old and were overwhelmed about choosing the right school for our kid. Our kid did not speak the language but we needed him to integrate well, the school has played a major role in building confidence in our child1. Great teachers who observe every minute behaviour of the child and provide timely constructive feedback.2. Kids are actually taught in three languages.3. Management is very supportive.4. Good inhouse facilities (swimming pool, play area etc)5. Many option for extra curriculars
Vera Drishti: Really happy with the school! My daughter just started and she loves it!
Lidija Dedovic: this school is the best, the teachers are exelenti meet so much friends.❤
Agnieszka Grzywnowicz: Our children love this school. My eldest son speaks three languages fluently. My youngest son, who has mild autism, loves going to school where he has an additional support. This school is like a family, everyone is very warm, kind and helpful and they seem to know everyone in the school.
Sue Belle: Good school, quite international, good teaching, extracurricular activities, swimming pool, nice building, good location in the upper part of Barcelona, great teachers, good dining and snack service, security service at the entrance, bus service.Extraordinary school for your children.
Enrique Hausmann: Highly recommended school for its teaching quality and closeness in dealing with teachers
Joaquin Villalonga Gómez: I went for several years from 14 to 17 years old, I studied 2nd, 3rd and 4th of high school, my brother also studied there until Preu and then at Uni.I remember that they put fencing, tennis and basketball as sports, which I played quite well.A good school, back then it was only for boys.
Alexander Grushvitskiy: Faced bulling here with no reaction of the school. Teacher preferred to keep it quiet. So, I changed the school.
Buena escuela..
Toni A.: Familiar, competent and above all stimulating for our children. There is a vocation on the part of the teachers from the first day. My daughter has been going since she was 6 months old and she is very happy in the SIL. The level of teaching is very high, something that he will later appreciate in his professional career. They instill values, standards of knowing how to be and respect for others. Very happy and recommended.
Lautaro Tora: Very bad experience of my life 30 years ago. There I was a victim of bullying and I finally had to leave school because the teachers did not defend the student in these cases. They limited themselves to saying that it was children's games, they did not attract the attention of the class and on top of that they cornered the victim student in a corner and invited them to leave the school. It was a very traumatic experience, so for all this I cannot give a good opinion. Based on the rest of the positive comments, it seems that things have changed and the teachers and management have improved, but the truth is that at that time there were many more cases and the school should have defended the student.
EduG: Mr. Ubeda is a crack of cracks
Marta de Amores Sanromá: Una edificació espectacular

Barcelona is a city that offers a wide variety of educational options for its citizens. One of the most popular options is bilingual schools, which offer students the opportunity to learn in two languages. Concerted baccalaureate centers in Barcelona, educator schools, German academies, private schools, private special education schools, schools for actors, and shuffle schools are all examples of bilingual schools in Barcelona. These schools provide students with the opportunity to learn in two languages, allowing them to become proficient in both Spanish and another language. This type of education also helps students to develop a better understanding of different cultures and to become more open-minded. By attending a bilingual school in Barcelona, students can gain a unique educational experience that will help them to succeed in their future endeavors.
