La Pallaresa Xocolateria Xurreria: what do users think?
Benjamin Booth
Benjamin Booth: A good place to try traditional churros and chocolate. My visit was good even though the churros could have been a little bit fresher as they felt like they had been sitting for a while and were no longer warm. The chocolate may not be to everyone’s taste due to how bitter it is but the horchata was amazing. The cafe is reasonably priced too to considering how popular it seems.
Julia Szczęsna
Julia Szczęsna: Best churros I have ever tried. We loved the churros so much that we repeated the order. I recommend eating them with one of the speciality milky beverages and dark chocolate. Very friendly, smiley and kind staff. I’ll definitely come back to this place next time I’m in Barcelona
Ava Tamizifar
Ava Tamizifar: Went here based on a local’s recommendation. We tried the churros con chocolate suizo (dark chocolate with whipped cream). Not my favourite place to have churros in Barcelona. The churros were pretty cold and not as fresh as I would like. The whipped cream also made the chocolate cold so not the best combo. The granja itself looks very nice and cozy with welcoming staff. Ps. If you are going as multiple people only one cup of chocolate is enough for multiple plates of churros.
Emily Murtha
Emily Murtha: Recommend to us by local people for churros and chocolate, although nice it wasn’t especially great. From what I can see the difference between the Spanish chocolate and Swiss chocolate is simply a large (too much) helping of cream on top of the chocolate. Was very popular with people queuing outside. Would recommend but have had far better chocolate in Barcelona.
nibblesandtravels
nibblesandtravels: Went here in April 2022 for a dessert after lunch and they had pretty good churros. The chocolate dipping sauce for me was just right - not too sweet, not too bitter - just how I enjoy chocolates.
Elif Özkan
Elif Özkan: There were two long lines in front of it for both taking away and dining in, maybe just because it is one of the famous churrerías of Barcelona. They serve traditional churros with hot chocolate. It was not too sweet for the sweet lovers to be honest (maybe much more healthy, in this case). But it worths to taste in an original way. Note: They were so careful to take people inside due to covid. 👌🏻
Theresa
Theresa: A realistic 3.5. Was hoping the churros would be served warm but alas they were room temperature. Still really tasty though!
FARANAK AMRAEI
FARANAK AMRAEI: Very fresh chorus just as fresh as it can get! Chocolate was tasty and very balanced sweetness which is very pleasant. Humble and cheap place in Gothic city to enjoy Spanish chorus.

Guillaume Emerson
Guillaume Emerson: Came here multiple times during our week in Barcelona. Excellent churros, porras and chocolate. Much better than other places that were recommended. There are some tourists but the general feel of the place is authentic.Decent prices too.
Kai Choo
Kai Choo: Fresh and crispy churros that’s soft on the inside. Not oily. Chocolate was thick and not too sweet. Perfection. The lovely and patient owners made the experience better.
G M
G M: Best churros we had in Spain. The churros here were very flavorful on their own. They sprinkled sugar on them which made them even better. The chocolate was the perfect consistency and very flavorful. This is a popular place so, it is always full. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Raj Sheth
Raj Sheth: A GREAT churro spot! Their hours are certainly interesting, so check them out, but PLAN to come here. It is right outside of the Gothic Quarter and has great location. The churros are legit made right in front of you and the chocolate sauce is so very good! The people inside are super sweet and overall just a delicious experience!
susu wong
susu wong: Nice xurros for breakfast. Affordable price. Good value of money. Quick, made at the scene, nice people and speak English 😁 I would like to try the others in the menu if I come back to Barcelona again
Mun Yin Chong
Mun Yin Chong: Had a very pleasant experience here. Prices were affordable but the food was great. Service is extremely good even though it’s just a humble little shop. My mum accidentally spilt the coffee but the waitress was very kind and prompt at cleaning up the mess. Furthermore, they compensated another cup of coffee FOC even though they didn’t have to do that. Highly recommended! Foreigner friendly place as well. ☺️
Elie Saliba
Elie Saliba: One of the best places to eat Churros with chocolate. The small shop offers a delicious iconic dish that every tourist should taste. Freshly made and friendly staff.
Adam M
Adam M: Hot chocolate, warm churros: perfection. The best churros I had out of many in Spain. These will stay in my dreams.

Jens Lambert
Jens Lambert: Had this place earmarked in our guide. When we stopped by earlier this week it was closed and were absolutely delighted when we saw it open today. Absolutely decadent and delicious. Was very reasonable as well, 10 euros for two cups of drinkable chocolate and two plates of dipping cookies. Cannot recommend enough, a great place to take a few minutes out of your day to enjoy.
Daniyal Akhtar
Daniyal Akhtar: Amazing churros & chocolate and Catalan cream! Highly recommended. This place is super busy, and for good reason. Its amazing! The price is reasonable, the staff are super friendly and atmosphere is great. We recommend trying the Churros with Dark chocolate. The dark chocolate is not so sweet so if you are after something sweeter, pick the sweeter French milk chocolate. The Catalan Cream was also great, light and and the right balance of sweetness.
Sunny Maz
Sunny Maz: The place was very cozy and makes you feel like you’ve went back to history. Staff were amazing and helpful and quick. Food was amazing. The Ensenada was just wow. The coffee was amazing. Highly recommended this place for a light breakfast or a quick snack. 10/10
CM S
CM S: A cool chocolateria in a nice ambience. Unfortunately, it is very noisy. Both the churros and the melindros are very tasty. I found the latter better. You order a hot chocolate to go with the churros or the melindros.
Luce Serra
Luce Serra: Really nice place to taste the "suizo" (with whipped cream) or the "francés" (no cream) together with "melindros" (sponge ladyfingers biscuits) and "xurros" (fried dough springled with sugar and cinnamon). Although both drinks are made from melted chocolat they are not too sugary and balance well with the melindros and xurros. Really original place, totally worth the visit! The waiters are nice and available to explain the products.

Poonie Tiengtrong
Poonie Tiengtrong: I ordered a cup of hot chocolate with traditional churros with cinnamon. It cost only 4€ altogether. This is a must try and buy for your dessert. The hot chocolate was thick and awesome. The churros were crispy and they went together very well. The staff speak English very well.
Michael Doherty
Michael Doherty: Big fan of these churros! I tried a few places in my week in Spain and these were the best. The fresh fried-ness of the originals were the best, especially when dusted with the sugar. But of course, the shining star is the melted chocolate. Get the originals with the dipping chocolate and don’t mess with the stuffed or chocolate dipped. OGs way better
Response: 👏👏👍👍
Steph Eats n Travels
Steph Eats n Travels: My favorite churro spot in Barcelona. Churro and hot chocolate are €4. I was lucky to get a very fresh batch of churros straight out of the fryer. These churros are CRISPY. Unfortunately this place is takeaway only; I had to sit in front of the cathedral for a comfortable place to sit.
Response: Hi Steph, We are so gratefull for your fantastic review about Xurreria Manuel San Román. We hope to see you very soon as possible,
Jamie W
Jamie W: The BEST churros in Barcelona. I’ve tried many churros while I was in Spain, and nothing will ever top this place. Freshly fried to perfection. Crispy and soft inside. Get the OG ones, the stuffed one isn’t as good. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Response: 👏👍
Christine
Christine: Typical, authentic churros place. For currently 2 Euros you get a good portion of churros and for another 2 Euros they give you a cup of creamy and dense hot chocolate to dip in as well. Don‘t forget to get the churros sugared if you don‘t want to add chocolate. The churros are crispy and very fresh. Xurros is the Catalan way of writing Churros by the way.
Response: Thanks 👏👌
shalaka pradhan
shalaka pradhan: We had sugar dusted classic churros with Nutella dip on the side and nutella filled large churros. Both were crispy, light and delicious!
Response: Thank you for your comment😀
Angelena Moio
Angelena Moio: lives up to the hype, a must try stop! had it for breakfast before our flight & it was a perfect treat, fried up fresh to order
B. Gallego
B. Gallego: One of my favourite churros in Barcelona! Couldn’t stop coming back for more and they sell them by weight in grams. Loved the classic and also the chocolate ones. I bought a bunch and packed them up in containers to bring home and they survived the flight! Especially the chocolate coated ones. Definitely worth a visit when you’re there!
Response: Thank you, we try to make everything to your liking
Markéta Dvořanová
Markéta Dvořanová: Amazing churros with proper thick hot chocolate. Also quite cheap, 6 churros + hot chocolate under 5 euros.

Dhoha Rashed Alshalawi
Dhoha Rashed Alshalawi: I never saw stuffed churro with many flavors. I tried the one stuffed with “ dulce de leche” like Carmel, and I love it. The place has story showing in the pictures on the walls of the current owner family. Cozy and lovely place close to La Sagrada Familia.
Response: Thank you so much Dhoha! I’m so glad I met you, thank you so much for your help, I hope we see you again soon! A hug!!!
Eunju Lee
Eunju Lee: Nice churro place near Sagrada familia. Staff was very friendly. It could take a while to get fresh churros. We were waiting for a bit but glad to get the fresh ones. I know this place is famous for giant and chocolate covered churro but probably better to have with original ones with chocolate sauce because they are freshly made 😋
Tiny T
Tiny T: Yummm!!! Best dish in Spain so far. Love love love the churros. We have similar dish in Asia but this is So lightly crisp and batter is not too heavy. The sugar topping is so worth the diet break. Eat fast as it’s not as nice when cold. Just had the classic plain. The chocolate companion is too damn sweet for me. But the churros. Ohhh oishi!
Elody H
Elody H: It was a recommendation from my friend as I was looking for the best churros in Barcelona. It was the first time we saw churros with fillings so we tried the offer of 4 for 15€ (we went for Passion fruit, Apple & coconut, chocolate cream & Almond, Kinder). I wasn’t expected them to be hard usually I have fresh churros but they were ok. The coffee with milk was good. I will go back to try the original ones.
Eduardo Antunes da Cunha
Eduardo Antunes da Cunha: *Almost* 5 stars. Very good. It would be 5 if all churros where made freshy new - I guess I am a bit spoiled by the ambulant vending machines from Brasil : )
Nikola Dimic
Nikola Dimic: Best churros i have tried in Barcelona. Filled churros are amazing but the best ones are churros con chocolate.
Eleni Karousi
Eleni Karousi: Really cozy small place with very tasty selections. Everything was fresh and the ice tea was very refreshing. Highly recommend it!

Matteo Wildauer
Matteo Wildauer: I was on a 5 day trip to barcelona and the first morning we went to this chocolateria. We were so in love with ghe churros dipped in melted chocolate that we went there everyday of our trip 🤓 Our standard order was 12 churros and 2 cups of melted chocolate (one with whipped cream on top). We were two people. Everyday it was a delight having our breakfast here! I strongly recommend you visit this amazing place!
Response: Thank you from the entire team at the chocolate shop! We hope to see you soon :)
W N
W N: Their hot chocolate is really thick and nice but comes in very small size. It is not churros that they have but porras. The texture isn’t right, so the overall experience is down the par.
Davy Martens
Davy Martens: Super good churros, sandwiches, coffee and hot chocolate. Must do when you are in Barcelona. Reasonable prices top.
Response: We are glad that you like our products. Thank you very much for giving us your feedback!
Petra György-Szomolányi
Petra György-Szomolányi: Best chocolate in town! Even the churros likes to be dipped in this heavenly drink.
Response: Thank you very much for your review ;)
Farzad Asgari
Farzad Asgari: The waiter who got our order was so nerves and rude person, her behaviors were so offensive, she did our order wrong and we had to pay more money for our so simple order. But the coffee and choros are very good.
Response: Sorry for the attention received by the staff, we will transfer what you tell us to the person in charge of the chocolate shop. However, thank you very much for sharing your opinion, thanks to it we can solve this type of incident.
Guillermo Suárez
Guillermo Suárez: The place was really full and the service was slow. But we had some delicious churros with chocolate. I really recommend you to try this if you are in Barcelona for the end of the year or in the beggining of the year. It is a Catalan tradition to gather with friends and ear churros with chocolate.
Response: Thank you very much for your review ;)

Aron Steg
Aron Steg: We walked a long way to try this churros and it didn’t disappoint. We had churros stuffed with dolce de leche and also a standard 6x churros with hot chocolate. Both delicious and well worth the walk and the queue. The churros frankfurt was a weird choice. I wonder who buys them.
Response: Thanks Aron
kotja
kotja: the man who worked there was incredibly polite, very good service. I definitely advise you to try churros with fillings. I took Kinder Bueno and dulce de leche. it was the best thing I have ever tasted in my life. classic churros are just perfect, not very greasy but crispy. I did not regret that I came there to try my first churros and I will definitely return
chan Mary
chan Mary: Absolutely love the traditional churros with hot chocolate. 😍Not a brilliant idea to finish all six on my own under the heat waves of Barcelona😂 recommend you to share and try different flavour. I would love to try the filled one next time.
hassu
hassu: Chocolate covered ones are REALLY good. 3 of them = 100g so 1.90 for 3. Havnt tried white chocolate or kinder Bueno yet (but bought) and just had to leave this review asap after trying the chocolate covered.

Andrés Zamudio: Loved the churros. They have many types, the traditional ones with sugar, chocolate churros and othera filled with different flavors (Nutella, Kindee Bueno, dulce de leche).
Response: Thaaaaaaanks

Olaf Kasper
Olaf Kasper: Great churros. We like the most regular with chocolate but filed with vanilla was also tasty.
Shelley Woo
Shelley Woo: Amazingly crispy on the outside with a nice crunch and soft on the inside. It wasn’t even hot but still so delicious! We tried five other churro places while in Spain and this was easily our favorite. Definitely underrated! Highly recommend.
Oosman Bashir
Oosman Bashir: Delicious. Simple spot that does great churros and very affordable

askim1903
askim1903: The best ice cream in Barcelona. Very kind stuff. Super cozy street. They are super generous with the ice cream and I would say that the price is proportional to the quantity and quality. We literally visited this place every day of our vacation.
Adam Zemančík
Adam Zemančík: DONT BUY CHURROS HERE! We were extremely disappointed by the churros we got. The chocolate wasnt good at all. And the churros themselves were just oily pieces of dough. Maybe add some cinnamon or fill churros with chocolate? But thats just sth extra, at least improve the chocolate quality. The place itself looks ok, but thats probably the only positive thing.
Soha T.
Soha T.: Amazing cafe for good coffee! We went to this place every morning during our stay in Barcelona. The ambience is beautiful and different from regular coffee shops we see in the U.S.

Aj88 Segura
Aj88 Segura: Great music, the rest a disaster. It cannot be that you go out to dinner and come back at 12:05 and they tell you that you cannot enter because you have spent 5 minutes. If you go out to dinner and the bar is late, it cannot be that they deny you entry and less for 5 minutes. A pity because the atmosphere is very good, but the staff is a complete disaster

We have sent your comment to the Sala Apolo security team, although I inform you that there is always a 15-minute margin and absolutely everyone who wishes to leave the room and then re-enter it is notified and informed of the timings that has and of those schedules. Response: Thank you for your review. The music in the main room is always hits, commercial pop, remember music, reggaeton, urban, etc. At La 2's Antichurros it's always electronic (disco, house, electro and techno).

Perfect excuse for me to head back there real soon.

Hsin Yi Wei
Hsin Yi Wei: The decor of La Nena cafe is really cute with cozy vibe and it’s a perfect place for afternoon tea. We tried their Churros with chocolate, it was our first churros at Spain, and the experience wasn’t good. The churros were dry and oily, it was bad to eat alone but at least decent with the chocolate dipping.

Alberto Antonio, O.P.
Alberto Antonio, O.P.: A favorite breakfast place. Typical of Barcelona breakfast shops: churros, coffee, pastries, sandwiches, freshly squeezed orange juice...everything you want.
Response: Thank you Alberto! 😊
Nikhil Shah
Nikhil Shah: Cool cafe for breakfast and if you want Spanish style churros. These are quite different to what I’m used to in the US but love that it doesn’t have sugar or cinnamon added on top. The chocolate sauce isn’t too sweet - but remember that it’s extra.
Response: Thank you Nikhil!
Lucas
Lucas: Little local place with a very nice, friendly lady. Unfortunately I’m just here for a week. I would come everyday for a breakfast
Response: Thank you very much Lucas, if you come back to Barcelona, we will be happy to see you again!
Filip Koudelníček
Filip Koudelníček: Highly recommending this cafe, the cafe is good. Really nice people where there. Churros is really tasty and don’t forget to try the smoothie. If you are in Barcelona you must visit this place.

Botond Kovács-N.
Botond Kovács-N.: Cosy place with good cafe con leche. Sadly churros was cold and they had no cinnamon at all. In a cafe...
Response: Thank you very much for your comment. We are glad you liked the site. On your next visit, we would like to make the churros a little warmer and with cinnamon. Do not hesitate to let us know! Thank you again and we hope to see you again soon.

Scandinavian roads
Scandinavian roads: The hot chocolat is fantastic! Must try! It is overall a nice, clean, albeit small place. The have a variety of pastries and also tasty ice cream and smoothies. Service is not fast but ok. But it is the tastes and tidyness of the place that it is so worth it.
Jade Joyce Ng
Jade Joyce Ng: Service was very poor and portion of ice cream was small. Been to other branches of Chocolate-Box and had amazing experience, particularly amazed by their generous portion of gelato. However, to my disappointment, my experience at this branch was extremely poor. We waited several minutes for the waitress to come and serve us when there was no one in the shop. She sounded very grumpy when we requested to try a flavour or two for the gelato. And the size of the gelato was half of what we had in other branches. Will never return and do not suggest anyone to come :(
Chun Yin Law
Chun Yin Law: The size of the gelato is only half of those I got from other branches. The waiter was rushing us for no reason while we are the only customer in the shop. The waiter did not allow us to try on different flavours of the gelato while the other branches of Chocolat-Box allow us to do so. Disappointed! Please go to other branches for better experience, such as the one near the Cathedralof Barcelona, they have excellent service and amazing portion of food!
Josh Cliffe-Jones
Josh Cliffe-Jones: Absolutely fantastic little venue for an ice cream and cold coffee just up the street from La Sagrada Familia! The drinks and ice cream are amazing and their food and chocolates look awesome too! They are SUPER lovely staff with kind hearts who refused to let me pay for a replacement drink that I spilt. If you are in the area, please do stop by and give them some love!
oksana lazda
oksana lazda: Out of this world! The icecream was so huge!! Crazy!! Really, - amazing!! And staff - super sweet!
Luisa Ottaviano
Luisa Ottaviano: Ice cream and caramel frappe were good. The cheesecake was too sweet. Nice atmosphere.
Bianca Santa Barbara
Bianca Santa Barbara: Got their chocolate and churros. They were delicious and not too sweet, though they do provide packets of sugar for you to add as you wish. The chocolate was warm and perfectly thick and rich for dipping. The churros were freshly made and had a decent serving size (4 churros) for a small snack. They give you a tiny plastic spoon on the side so that you can eat the chocolate after you finish all your churros. Overall, service was great and friendly 👌
Bautista Powerslam
Bautista Powerslam: Nice cafe with lots of seating, staff are great, really helpful and welcoming. The churros and chocolate were really nice and fresh. I also ordered the carrot cake which was served in a nice takeaway box. Unfortunately the carrot cake was not great. Enjoyed the churros and chocolate.
Response: Dear Bautista, Thank you for your comments. We are very pleased to hear that you had a good experience with our chocolate and churros. We hope that you come back really soon. Best regards Chocolat-box

Jacob Nygard
Jacob Nygard: The ice cream here is delicious 😋 And the staff is friendly and speaks great English, the prices are fair compared to the quality of the ice cream and the options you have when choosing the flavors. They have things like Oreo, Snickers and even vegan sorbet with lemon, strawberry or raspberry. This is a really nice place for dessert after dinner.
Antonieta Ponce de Leão
Antonieta Ponce de Leão: I only tasted one flavor to go, I was a bit sad I could only take one flavor on the small cup, there are many places that offer different flavors on the same small cup, for the same price. Regardless the one that I choose was very nice and very well served. They have a big variety of flavors and some different from the usual. I will probably come again to taste more ☺️
Midnight Playz
Midnight Playz: Delicious fraps and churros !! We had the iced coffee frappe & the chocolate frappe … along with fresh churros …. Yumm!! Many enjoying the different icecream flavors but we wanted churros & frappe
Hana Ngô
Hana Ngô: One of the best ice cream I have had in my 3 months here (I ate lots of ice cream). The price is actually lower than the other ice cream places I have been to. I am not sure because I’m not a local here btw. Lotus bitcus and Strawberry (with mashmellow) are MUST TRY. I have 7 days left in Barcelona and I plan to come here again one or more time. Gonna miss this place when I come back home. P/S: as you can see I’ve been here with my trio SO MANY TIMES. They always let us try different flavor before we decide with one to have and I love that!!
simret singh
simret singh: Very delicious churros, warm and crispy. The chocolate that came with it was just right and not too sweet. The service was impressive and the staff were nice and very pleasant despite being extremely busy. Reasonably priced.
Ismail Talha Kenel
Ismail Talha Kenel: I was trying to find a place to try churros late at night before I actually stumbled upon this place near the Picasso Museum. At the first second I realized there was a long line which meant to me that this place was very much liked by the people, so i waited. I got myself 2 scoops (one hazelnut and one stracciatella) ice cream with waffle cone and churros with chocolate which tasted amazing. The churros were super fluffy in the inside and crispy on the outside, perfect for a chocolate dip, I kindly recommend
MaXim Pro
MaXim Pro: Really nice Location and friendly Owners. Mariano y Clara. He allowed me to charge my Phone there and was really nice. And they have some really Yummy Sweets and Ice, that I can really recommend :) :) Happy Times there and its right beside some nice attractions as well. Have a good one :)
Morten Andreas Horn
Morten Andreas Horn: Very nice little restaurant with delicious chocolate. A favourite of my 14-year old, and her daddy too... We came all the way from Oslo, Norway for the xurros, and were not disappointed.
