    The best burgers in Barcelona

Spain is certainly more famous for its people Snacks, tortilla or ham, than for hamburgers; however, in terms of cuisine, the Catalan city is always ready to incorporate the latest trends and make them their own, offering their own burgers delicacies able to satisfy the most demanding palates. Always looking for places to eat without spending a lot, we have compiled our personal list of the best we have tried.

    Chivuo's

Born from the idea of two guys with a past in haute cuisine, Chivuo's offers few things done well. The menu consists of 5 different burgers, accompanied by potatoes, with the possibility of choosing between some craft beers, changed in rotation. A simple and effective idea: the sandwiches are delicious, and the beer is wonderful, all for around € 10. Hard to say which burger is the best, I personally tried both Chivuo's and Pulled Pork, and they were both exquisite.

    Where and when

Chivuo's opened its first restaurant in Gràcia, in Carrer del Torrent de l'Olla, 175 (metro Lesseps or Fontana, line 3), and has recently opened another restaurant in Raval, in Carrer Pintor Fortuny, 15 (metro Liceu , line 3, or Catalunya, lines 1, 3, 6 and 7). Both places open from Monday to Saturday from 13:00 to midnight, the kitchen is closed from 17:00 to 19:00. It is better to try to arrive before 19:30, the place is small and there is a good queue to enter, even if it still flows fast. Here you can find reviews of Chivuo's.

    Bro

Opened in 2014 by two brothers (hence the name), Bro specializes in sandwiches and burgers with artisan bread e quality meat cooked on the grill. The two brothers are Argentine, and it shows: the meat is very tasty, both for the burgers and for the bocadillos, moreover the menu includes several typical Argentine dishes such as empanadillas, a kind of stuffed panzerotto, and above all the choripan, bread with salami typical of Argentine cuisine, which is easy to fall in love with. The prices are affordable: taking into account that the place is located in the middle of Barceloneta, it can be a valid alternative to try something special without spending a fortune.

    Where and when

Bro is located in Barceloneta, at Carrer Baluard 34 (Barceloneta metro, yellow line 4). It opens every day, except Tuesdays, from 13:00 to 23:00. To read the reviews on Bro you can click on this link.

    Bacoa

When they opened their first venue, in Born, it was 2010. Today Bacoa has 5 different places in Barcelona, plus one in Madrid, thanks to their success. Among the first to offer gourmet burgers in Barcelona, Bacoa has helped set a standard in Barcelona of street food based on high quality ingredients at affordable prices. Everything offered on the table is strictly produced independently, from the bread to the sauces for the chips, the meat instead comes from certified Spanish farms. The menu offers a wide range of choices, including a couple of options for vegetarians and vegans, and burgers are plentiful.

    Where and when

Bacoa University: Ronda de la Universitat, 31 (Universitat metro, lines 1 and 2, or Catalunya, lines 1, 3, 6 and 7). Open every day from 12:00 to midnight.
Bacoa Little: Carrer Colomines, 2 (Jaume I metro, line 4). From Wednesday to Sunday, from 13:00 to midnight (from Wednesday to Friday it is closed from 17:00 to 19:00).

    Fire and Oil

Very small place located in the left Eixample, Foc i Oli is currently one of the most popular names in Barcelona in the field of street food, and with good reason. In addition to the superlative burgers, they prepare chicken bocadillos that really deserve to be tasted, for which it would be necessary to return a second time. Probably the best place in the field of gourmet burgers, and you can see from the lines that form during the busiest hours, however it can be easily solved by choosing the take-away.

    Where and when

Foc i Oli is located on Carrer Aribau, 91, in the left Eixample. To reach it by metro the closest stops are those of Hospital Clinic (line 5) and Provença (lines 5 and 6). The restaurant is open from Monday to Friday from 13:00 pm to 16:30 pm and from 19:00 pm to 23:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 13:00 pm to 16:30 pm. Closed on Sundays. Reviews and more information can be read here.

    The central

Another highly rated venue in Barcelona, La Central offers one large choice of burgers to taste, in addition to the possibility of "building" your own hamburger by choosing from the various ingredients available, all strictly fresh. To accompany your burger there is a great selection of craft beers, plus a couple of options are also offered for non-meat eaters. To top it off, you can have a dessert, the brownie with chocolate and almonds is worth a taste.

    Where and when

The Central certainly deserves its name: located at number 45 of via Laietana, the restaurant is very close to the Palau de la Musica Catalana, and a few steps from the Cathedral. It can be easily reached by metro from the Jaume I line 4 stop. The Central opens every day from 12:30 to midnight, and on Fridays and Saturdays the opening is extended until 1:00 in the morning.
