The Bosc Urbà: an adventure park in Barcelona

What is the Urban Forest

If you are looking for a place to have a physical experience with your family or group, without leaving Barcelona, then the Bosc Urbà is for you: an adventure park located inside a converted industrial structure, located in the Forum area and conveniently reachable by metro. If you are going with the kids, you can solve the whole day by visiting the Museu Blau, the new science museum, located practically across the street.

The idea of an adventure park is generally that of a playground in a wood, with obstacle courses located among the trees, such as Tibetan bridges, walkways and pulleys, all at a certain height from the ground. In Barcelona's Bosc Urbà, things are a little different: there are no trees, but pillars. Although the charm of the forest is lost a little, the structure certainly offers advantages: in the meantime it is covered, so you can go even when it rains, in addition, the safety offers very high standards, thanks to the smart carabiners. Before accessing the circuits it is mandatory to attend the explanations of the team on how to use the equipment safely.

Different paths based on skills

The Bosc Urbà offers 3 routes suitable for all ages:

  • Orange Circuit: designed for children aged 3 to 8, the route is at a height of 150 cm from the ground. The presence of parents (or an adult companion) is required.
  • Circuito Azzurro: for adults and children aged 8 and up, more than 135 centimeters tall. It has a medium difficulty level, lasting about 40 minutes, children can do it easily, adults accompanying them may suffer more.
  • Red Circuit: for adults and children over 12 years old, over 145 centimeters tall. This is the most demanding route, it could take you over an hour to complete it. If you don't exercise regularly, expect to feel some pain in your arms and trunk the next day.

Useful Information

It is preferable to bring comfortable clothes and sneakers, and if you have them, sports gloves. The structure is covered, but not sheltered: if you go in winter and just accompany the boys, better wear something heavy.
