YAKUMANKA by Gastón Acurio: what do users think?

Maria Io: One of the best Peruvian restaurants in Barcelona. Yesterday we had amazing dinner with a family. Our super friendly waiter made our evening. All food is fresh and full of taste. They make great “pisco sour” cocktails(classic, passion fruit, cucumber) Also the desert «tres leches» worth a try.

Zhijun Liu (Alex): Very nice staff, Giselle, who took care of our table, her English was good and she was very nice and always smiling! Other staff was very helpful too. Five stars for the service. The food was good, but it wasn’t “wow”. A lot of Japanese flavours which we didn’t expected. The ingredients are very fresh, good and sweet oysters. For what it is, I think a bit overpriced. Enjoyed it overall. Won’t come back though…

Jinjoo Lee: We ordered 3 different ceviches, and I think we enjoyed the classic the most. The fish was extremely fresh, and the flavors worked so well. The tres leches was also phenomenal. I really appreciated the little bites of toasted marshmallow. Staff were polite and very helpful.

Silvie: Wonderful place, as soon as you get in you feel a welcoming atmosphere. The waitresses were friendly and very helpful, the red haired girl helped me through the menu to find what was best for me. The food was just too good and colourful. I loved the Arroz, causa rellena, duck croquettes and Tres leches (sweet). I will definitely come back when I return to Barcellona. Very clean place, the price was commensurate. Very good experience.

Borja Samsó Arnaiz: Great peruvian food and service. We were 20 minutes late from our booked time and they kept the table for us. We had a ceviche clasico for starters, and an ají de gallina and lomo saltado as mains. All of them are big portions, super tasty and proper quality ingredients. It’s not cheap, but it’s definitely worth a visit.

MARIO SANCHEZ SERRA: Great Peruvian experience. We really loved their nikkei ceviche and chicken tiradito. Very good Pisco Sour and good experience in general. At Gaston Acurio standards. Only cons, Slightly pricy and waiters a bit too intrusive, demanding every 5 minutes… Recommended.

J S: Loved every single things we ordered. The food can best be described as refined Peruvian cusine with a twist. Highly recommend the pisco based cocktails. The causa escabechada and the veal heart skewers were absolutely perfect. The ceviche (cebiche) could have been more flavourful (better marinated). They did a vegetarian rice with fried eggs for our kid which was absolutely delicious. Would recommend them whole heartedly. Kid-friendliness: They have a few dishes the kids would love.

Pras Ra: It was a really phenomenal meal. We had a table for two booked for lunchtime on a weekday. Service was great. Most of the waitresses spoke a little English and really tried hard between them to help us understand the menu. Because they have such a close relationship with the local Pescadores, it is really worth trying the specials. We had Bonita tiraditos and Tuna ceviche, both absolutely delicious and we had to stop ourselves drinking the Tigre De Leche out of the bowl. Two of us shared the Loma saltado, and with the chicken croquettes and beef empanadas, the waitress recommended that would be enough for two. The lomo saltado was out of this world. The lomo beef is cooked to perfection. A number of stewed green vegetables were in the deep, rich broth and they were cooked to chewy but still nice and fresh. What I really liked about the dish was that some fried and baked starchy vegetables had been added so there was a lot of variety in the texture. A surprising stand out for us was the Tres leches dessert. Hands-down one of the best desserts I’ve ever eaten in my life.

Tali Z: Loved this place! The ceviche was exquisite! The drink and the starters were top notch! The service was very friendly and patient with my broken Spanish! ☺️ Highly recommended! I added this place to the list of my favourite places to revisit in my next trip to Barcelona! Thank you!
Response: Thank you very much Tali, we are so glad to hear that you had a good time with us and hopefully we can see you soon. We hope all goes well for you! All the best!

Khristian Pena: I love Peruvian food and I admit to being biased since I’m Peruvian…I add that context to say that this was delicious and an amazing reflection of an authentic lunch/dinner in Peru. The 1/2 chicken with its complimentary sauces was fulfilling and a perfect way to end my evening
Response: Thank you very much, we are glad to know that you were able to experience the same flavor as in our beloved Peru. We hope all goes well for you! All the best!

Dhanya Babu: This was our first time with Peruvian cuisine, we really like the grilled chicken and the sauces that came with it. It was really busy ans we had to wait quite a bit to get the check, but other than that we enjoyed eating here.
Response: Thank for your comment Dhanya. We are glad to hear that you had a good time and hopefully you can visit us again. Best regards.

jaziz: If you’re looking for affordable & good quality Peruvian Food with classic dishes at a good price, this is your place. Nothing fancy, but all the classics done well. I’ve travelled in Peru, and these guys are Peruvian and the real deal. If you want something more fancy, you can also find places double the price with smaller portions if you need the flashing lights. The ceviche is great and the portions very generous. Just sad I couldn’t try all the dishes in one visit! Will definitely return. The pisco sours were a little watery, but they did give us a complimentary shot of pisco at the end (served by “Fonzi” who was a very nice waiter)! So I just think it’s the way they made it and not being stingy. Look forward to visiting again the next time in BCN 👍🏽

Nadya Rojas: They had a wide variety of authentic dishes. The Pollo a la brasa was delicious!

Ricky Santos: Bright, fresh and colourful. Affordable and delicious!

Jaswinder Taank: Pretty good chicken fried rice. Portions are huge.
Response: Thank you, Jaswinder. We hope all goes well for you! All the best!

Aine Molloy: I love this place! The pollo a la brasa is delicious, and the lomo salteado is perfect for a change. The staff are so friendly, and the pisco sour de maracuya will cure any hangover. Great every time <3
Response: Thank you so much for your comment. We are so glad to hear that you had a good time with us and hopefully we can see you soon. We hope all goes well for you! All the best!

AnITaDaY: Perfect restaurant to have a fresh, delicious ceviche on a sunny day. The place is clean/cosy, and the music is not too loud. Service is very nice. We had two starters, two mains, desserts and three cocktails, everything was really tasty.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Response: Many thanks AnITaDay for your kind words! Hope to see you soon again in Panqa! :)

Hai Dang Duong: Friendly service. Got a table for three and served even without any reservation during lunch time. English menue available. Food was so fast, that it came before our drinks. Wonderful atmosphere and tasty food.
Response: Hai many thanks!! Hope to see you soon.

Artjoms Ševčenko: Great food, good service, tasty drinks. Clean and nice design of the restaurant, good music. Cheesecake looks better on picture than it tastes, for my taste, but well, nothing can be perfect. Thanks
Response: Many thanks!! Hope to see you soon.

Angelo Vassallo: Really great experience! All the dishes we tried were really tasty. Positively surprised about the nice presentation of the dishes. To improve maybe only the desserts but for sure an experience to repeat!
Response: Thanks Angelo!

Luis Garcia: We had dinner and tried to get the best of the experience Unfortunately it fell short to our expectations and we had the impression got lousy as the dinner progressed We got the ceviche with aji it was in overall the best dish it had a good ají punch The pisco was nice The yuca brava was nice but not special But then it went downhill the rest of the food was bland The causa limeña had no flavour and the prawn felt well cooked but it tasted not fresh it was also not balanced too much causa limeña and too little prawn The octopus was over cooked and chewy it had a lot of cumin in the sauce that overpowered the rest of the dish Then for the rest it was as good as any tapas place not special Then dessert was ok not special it tasted as microwave cake with lechera milk and lots of cinnamon again it was not balanced In average we felt ti was average at best but for the price it was too much
Response: Dear customer. Our flavors are traditional and we work every product at the moment. If we had experiences similar to yours, we would be the first to correct them, but that is not the case. We are sorry, but the taste is subjective. Thanks.

Lorena Haas: Great place for brunch. We went there three times during our stay in Barcelona. Every time I tasted something different and it was amazing.
Response: Lorena many thnaks!!

Response: Thank you very much Joshua for your comment and evaluation. See you soon.

Bako Rambini: I’ve been in Peruvian restaurants in the past but this one is truly amazing. I don’t know how they make it work but there’s a very large variety of flavours (acid salty sweet) and textures in the same dish but somehow, they manage to make the taste very cohesive. Plus the staff is super nice, friendly and so happy to share.
Response: Thank you very much my dear Bako, Cocorocó works with all the affection and love that we put into everything we do beyond the results. Thank you for your evaluation and your emotional comment. See you soon.

Mar de Luna Duarte (Ocean D.N): The best Peruvian restaurant in Barcelona! Best ceviche I’ve ever tried in Europe! Try the Causa de Pulpo ❤️
Response: My dear Mar, thank you very much for your assessment and comment that encourages and motivates us as well. See you soon.

Daniel Walsh: What can I say. The food and the service at this restaurant is incredible! I’ve never thought about trying traditional Peruvian dishes in my visits to Barcelona, but a recommendation from a resident here led me to the most delicious dishes and deserts I have tasted in the city, and there are many many great contenders for delicious food. The service was prompt and very welcoming - Monica is the owner of this fantastic family establishment, and between her excellent eye for detailed recipes and her husband Wilton’s accommodating presence, I think Cocoroco’s will definitely be a regular visit when I return to Barcelona!
Response: My dear Daniel, on behalf of the entire human team that gives life to COCOROCÓ, we only have words of thanks for your assessment and comment, a sincere and motivating comment that pushes us to keep the restaurant at a level where all visitors have a genuine experience. with the gastronomy of our country. Response: Cristina, We are very happy to read that you enjoyed our Tacu Tacu. We are waiting for you soon in the Barrio Santo!

Andree Castro: The food that I had "chicharrón de pesacado" was really good and tasty, but I felt it is a bit expensive compared to many other peruvian restaurant that I have been before.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Jose Silva Canali: If you are looking to try the real Peruvian flavour you are in the right place. Cozy atmosphere in the heart of villa de Gracia. They use ingredients imported from Peru and it makes the difference ! Excellent food super tasty and the cocktails are just amazing! Special mention to the owner Alexis who is super kind and passionate about everything they do Super recommended ✅✅✅

Niklas Wimmer: Delicious 👌🏻 There are no other words to describe the great taste of the food in this Restaurant. Definitely a have to for everyone who loves some good meat, the vegetarian options are also awesome. If i would live in Barcelona i would eat here every week.

D: Great experience! The waiters here are super friendly and will take time to explain their cuisine and all different cocktails. The quality of food is good and prices are reasonable for what you get. We paid 100€ for 2 main dishes and 2 cocktails. The space is small and only holds 43 people so make sure you get there with a reservation.

Marc A: Wow! Truly a fantastic eating experience. Went with some Peruvian friends who agreed that the food and the Nikey options (Japanese x Peruvian cusine) we’re quite authentic and flavorful. I absolutely loved it and would highly recommend. Expect to spend around 30 euros and remember to reserve in advance!

Divya Gundlapalli: Great Peruvian restaurant. Ordered four dishes. Most impressive was the ceviche. Least impressive was the Peruvian grill item. Meat felt under seasoned. Fried rice was a great rounded flavourful dish. Pisco Sours were very potent. I have had better piscos elsewhere so skip that. Suggest sticking to ceviche. Fried rices to do this place justice. Good service!

Andrés Zamudio: Really good place for peruvian cuisine in Barcelona. Food was really good. Apart from the menu they had a couple of daily specials and eveything that we ordered was really good. Highly recommend their ceviches. Beers and cocktails are also nice. Good service from the staff.

Ya-Ling S.: Good food! New experience, but it’s a little bit spicy if you are not used to it.Also, remember not to order more than 2 dishes if you are only 2 ppl.But overall, very good restaurant and workers are really friendly!!!

Jen L: I think this is one of my fave restaurants in the city. I’ve been here 4 times in the last month and the food has been ridiculously good each time. Yes, it’s pricey but absolutely worth spending your money here. Also they are pet friendly which is great cause we take our dog out with us a lot! Try the pisco sours and the ceviche 🤤 also have to give it up to the friendly waiters-they make us feel so welcome every time we come

Mae Alberto: Awesome food and service. One of the best ceviches i had.
Response: Thank you !

AO: Food was delicious!! Been here several times and today was the best. Had four plates to share between five and all walked out with a full stomach 😋

Natalie Gil: Great varieties dishes, authentic flavors and wonderful host: Alexandra

Dominic Bruce: Great food, great price, great service

Tom Seen: We had two Ceviches, one with seafood and one with tuna. They were both really good, however esp. the seafood one was really hot which wasn‘t mentioned on the menu. The portion itself was a little small for the price and location.
Response: Hi Tom. The relation between the food and the price is the correct. Thanks and welcome.

Ricardo Antonio Reyes: Really down to earth restaurant. Very attentive waiter, they really came through with booth being effective and in the freshness of their ingredients. Their Ceviche clásico together with the classic Pisco sour is really good and I also ordered some fried calamares as sidedish with the ceviche and it really soothed things up just great. Will definitively come back.
Response: Thanks Ricardo !!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻

David Fuentes: We made a very late reservation and they managed to accommodate us.The food was excellent and to a high standard, the service was on a par.All at a reasonable price
Response: Thanks David ! It’s a pleasure to attended you

victoria adrianza: Turns out I found an INCREDIBLE PERUVIAN restaurant, I will never get over and will come back as many times as possible 😂 the quality of the ingredients, the diversity of the flavors and the attention was unbeatable. I suggest you order both ceviches and plates you see in the photos attached. We just couldn’t stop commenting on how good everything was. Keep it up! You are doing an amazing job 🇵🇪 👏🏼

Ariel TAIEB: Very attentive staff and helpful in picking the right dishes to our combined tastes. The variety as well as the quantity for each of the plate was perfect. We loved the cocktails proposed while eating. Ceviches are to die for. The last dessert was very sweet as the original recipe… but if you have a craving for sweet don’t miss it.

Bruno Ferenci: *Food* As a starter we had ceviche with chicharon (squid) was really good i like this dish cause its a good combination of raw fish (ceviche) and fried. Was slightly spicy, so if u dont like spicy i dont recommend it. For main dish i had lomo asado (medium rare) had amazing taste i would come back for this dish. We also had a corvina (fish) personally was not my favorite and first came a but uncooked so we sent it back (they fixed it quick) To drink we had chicha morada which was also good. *Service* Service was friendly, but a little bit slow in my opinion however half of the restaurant was empty *Price* As most of the Peruvian restaurants in Barcelona this is not cheap neither, calculate at least 30-40€/person

AnITaDaY: Nice place with Peruvian food. The service is really friendly, the dishes are tasty but the atmosphere is loud. What got my attention were prices, starters cost almost the same as main dishes.Food: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

Claudia Medina: Tasting a bit of the amazing Peruvian cuisine 😋the stuff was friendly and the food felt like it was cooked at home 🇵🇪❤️Thank you! And continue the good work🙂PS: I would have liked to had more dessert options - something with Lucma or Chirimoya 🙂maybe I am asking too much🤭

Radostina Shopova: A Peruvian colleague of mine took us there. Food was amazing, cocktails were great, the staff was super helpful and friendly, I would love to go there again. On the picture is a famous Peruvian dish called Lomo Saltado Criollo- super tasty, meat was tender and rice was perfectly cooked.

Janel Loi: My favourite Peruvian restaurant in Barcelona, and trust me, I’ve tried a lot plus spent quite a bit of time in Peru. Aji de gallina here is out of this world good and ceviches are amazing. Other favourites: papa rellena, papa a la huancaina, ceviches de aji amarillo, arroz con pato. For drinks, chicha morada is a classic non-alcoholic beverage and pisco sours are a must for cocktail lovers. I’ve introduced at least 8 different friends to this and all of them are as obsessed about this restaurant as I am. Reservations highly recommended as it’s so popular it fills up fast.

Gustavo Flores: Really good traditional Peruvian food! We had the Classic Ceviche and the Papa Rellena. Both were amazing.

Majid Mahmood: Really great food. One of the best peruvian foods i had had. The ambience was so good and calm.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

carlo (Bettercallcarlo): The service was horrible (like most of places in Barcelona) waiters had no experience and there is zero storytelling about the dishes. The owner came just to say in a really rude way kitchen is closing at 10:30 hurry up. The food was really average. Only good point the pisco savour maracuja (8 euro each) was delicious
Response: We´re sorry your experience wasn´t ideal. We work hard to give our customers the best service. We´ll take your comment in mind to improve.

Jose Tron: Good place, some hit and miss on what i ordered… ceviche was ok but not between my best../ seafood rice was good… asado de tiras tasted good but too salty.
Response: ¡Thank you for your review! We´ll keep working to improve

Christian Lanas: We are form Canada, Iran and Chile. This is one of the best restaurant for the value in Barcelona. Fransisco & Iman were our servers. He was a gentleman and she made it happen, they knew the menu and they were very attentive. Best service we experienced in our European trip. Best food!

EKA PRAYS: Good food, I tried the ceviche 103 and arroz marisco, and I lovet it. The service are good, I forget the name of the girl who serve me well.

Tom Kerem: I got Lomo Saltado from the regular menu (vs. the lunch menu). The portion was very generous and the price was very reasonable. The meat was very good. The food was a bit too salty for my liking but still wasn’t bad. I would give it a 3 1/2 stars, but pulled up to 4 for the generous portion and well prepared meat.
Response: Thank you Tom for your comment, it helps us to improve every day.

Blas Rodriguez: Food is amazing! Service can be improved a lot, and management should be comlncious of how staff behave, but the food makes up for it, really good!Food: 5/5 | Service: 3/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Response: Blas thank you for your comment that helps us improve every day.

Amelia Bernaciak: It was our first experience with Peruvian dishes and we really enjoyed it! The stuff was the nicest, portions were huge for this price. It was amazing, we recommend, food was making with open heart - it was felt on plate.

Aileen Arango: The food is delicious! I went during weekdays and the lunch menu is a lot of food for the that price :) !! Best eish Causa Peruana you must try it!

Riku Pääkkönen: The butterfish was good but paired with the sauces it was brilliant. A bit small portion though. Service was quick and nice.

MariaBen: The food is delicious but its not okay that you need to wait literally for almost 2 hours to get your order. And when you finally get it, you get 1 plate and wait for the rest for another 30min for sure. If they would pay more attention to that only.
Response: Many thanks!! Hope to se you soon!!

Daniel Stefanus: Incredible! The best aji de gallina in Barcelona. Great selection and quality of ceviches too. Such an unexpected gem

Christinne Cuyugan: huge portions, really good peruvian food. happy to have stumbled upon it and just tried it out! the ceviche leche de tigre is magiccc

Giuseppina Zuri: The food was so tasty. I had a menu which included ceviche, pork, dessert and a drink. Everything was so special and well cooked. I can only recommend the place. For sure I will be back soon. Thanks for a great lunch

Marieta Riga: Excellent experience. The food was very tasteful, well cooked, comfort food at its finest. The personnel was very polite and really tried to explain everything even though we do not speak Spanish and they could understand but did not spoke english. However, everything worked. Prefer to order max. 3 dishes for 2 people. The portions are pretty big.

Shahwar Salahuddin: I ordered the classic ceviche and my husband got the menu del dia - with the classic ceviche and jalea de pescado but he did not really enjoy the that, the fish was a bit smelly

John Sami: This is the best ceviche I’ve ever had. El mejor del mundo!

Gregory Guardia: This place is a jewel!! The decoration is bad and looks like a bar, but the food is AWESOME! Ceviche mixto is one of the best I’ve ever had. Causa Crujiente really tasty. Pisco Sour was 💕
Response: Gregory many thanks hope to see you soon.

Tarik Ouazzani Touhami: Great Peruvian food, and the service was also very good!

Nneka: My best experience of Peruvian food so far.

Alejandro Ovalle: Came with friends to Don Isidro. We had lomo salteado , ají de gallina , leche de tigre, pisco sours and tres leches dessert. Excellent service , amazing food , highly recommended Peruvian restaurant.
Response: Thank you Alexander for your visit. A big hello!

JC Serrano: I’ve been there a few times so it must be great. Their lomo saltado is authentic and their ceviches amazing. Very tasty!! I don’t understand why they close so early though, not good for business.
Response: Thank you very much JC for your visit. We wait for you again. Cheers!

Alex Skywalker: The food was good but very slow. It took 40 min to prepare the order but it was tasty.Food: 5/5 | Service: 3/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Response: Thank you very much Alex for your visit. As for the slowness, it must be taken into account that Peruvian cuisine is complex and each dish requires time. Cheers :)

Tiago Soares: Very good food and service,Beautiful taberna peruana .My favortite place for eat peruviano in barcelona.
Response: Thanks, Tiago!

Marco Nappo: really good quality and at an affordable price!!
Response: Thanks, Marco :)

Paul Olivier: Great, authentic culinary experience. Highly recommended.

Jenn Mi: Excellent service and place. The food was very good, except for the ceviche, which was a bit raw. As a Peruvian person I can say that it is one of the best restaurants, since the flavor is very similar to the Peruvian flavor. Highly recommended.
Response: Thank you Jenn, we are waiting for you again. Cheers!

M.A. G. C.: I had never dined in a Peruvian restaurant and I was very surprised!! Super tasty food, all delicious and generous quantities. In addition, the guy who served us was very kind and recommended us which dishes to try and the right amount. We also tried the natural juices that are 10 and the spectacular cheese and three milk cake
Response: Thank you very much for your visit! We wait for you again. A big hello!

Wallacy Coelho: BEST CEVICHE EVER!!!! It was extremely fast to be done and was SO PERFECT that I almost cried, literally! Same taste as the one I had in Peru. The patacones were also delicious!!!!!

Marlena Trała: Ooooo, yes! I’m always seeing this place crowded so we decided to finally stop by. These dishes were delicious. It is a first time when I’m eating in Peruvian restaurant and I have to say that I’ll be back! The portions of food are super big. Place more with a family vibes nothing fancy, and I think that is the magic of this place. 🇵🇪

Christian Villarreal: Excellent, delicious food, good size portions, very friendly service and atmosphere. Will be back for sure.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Lorcan: The service was really good. The lady that looked after us was very helpful in guiding us to pick a nice dish. The patacones are delicious. I will be back not just for the food but also the service! 👌

Sandra P: Amazing pollo a la brasa, starter and cold beer. Waiting time was little longer than expected but still ok

Steve Brewer: Boiled to death corn and some cheese. Not what I expected choclo for €6 to be

Paul Wilson: Cool atmosphere, generous food, great service

Carl: Never been to Peru but eating here must feel pretty close. The place is loud, full of Peruvians (good sign), kitchen staff to and fro while salsa blares from a large flat screen TV. Their ceviche is amazing and the 1/4 chicken with chips and salad are irresistible at 5,50€ They also make their own Chicha (typical Peruvian drink made from purple maize)
