Tracy Ricard: It is without hesitation that I overwhelmingly recommend VDB Luxury Management! It is by far the most professional and caring real estate firm I have ever dealt with, with multiple properties around the world. My family and I were looking to move to Barcelona last year when I came upon VDB on a google search. I read the paragraph below (which is listed on their site) with reasonable skepticism and decided, why not, to reach out to them, since it was well written and bold. {Our team leads with putting customers’ needs at the center of what we do, treating your property and top interests as if they were our own. Why? Because we truly care. With decades of business experience, we know that our reputation is built on your trust. With us, tomorrow is not an option and quality is non-negotiable!!} Not only did we end up renting from them one of their show case apartments for nearly a year, in addition, we ended up purchasing one of their portfolio properties that we are hopeful they will manage as well once the building is completed. Viola who may be the unofficial mayor of the Barcelona real estate community and owner of VDB, has put together a crack team of professionals like my first contact Gloriana. All of her staff are able to speak multiple languages and give their best efforts to always go above and beyond accommodating our requests both as a renter and now a buyer. They all seem to have a special intelligence for matching the customer with the right spaces and personalities that will bring the overall best satisfaction. Too bad all google searches don’t turn up a VDB type organization to exceed your expectations! 😊
Jean-Claude Dupont: All good things take time - as we are used to say. Buying a property - even at home - can be a difficult, tricky and tiring process. If then it is in another country with its own peculiarities, these factors seem to increase even more. Additionally, buying something is a large decision and most often a life-long commitment. After having searched for quite a while for someone reliable, I stumbled upon VDB. The careful selection of their properties and their presentation were the main drivers for reaching out. From there onwards, it was the most professional and pleasant experience and I can only recommend it. They have a great personal touch in their approach and a fantastic availability to answer all questions throughout the whole process promptly. Peter dePenaloza: I cannot speak highly enough about Viola and her company VDB Luxury Properties. We fell in love with Barcelona when visiting several years ago, and decided to buy a second home there as we plan on spending a lot more time in this wonderful city in the future. It has many things in common with the San Francisco Bay Area (sea, mountains, nearby wine regions), but the Mediterranean lifestyle is way more relaxing! VDB quickly helped orient us to the property market, the different neighborhoods and the administrative aspects of buying a property in Spain. Viola accommodated the big time zone difference, being very responsive even in the evenings and weekends. What really stood out the most for us was VDB Property Management’s very high service standards. They are an international team that understands the needs and expectations of foreign buyers like us. They are such a pleasure to work with: Always available, fast in follow up, patient in educating us with our first international investment, and always with such a positive attitude. Peter Haiduk: Hands down my best experience ever with a rental agency, especially being an English speaker, since this agency is built around helping international clients. I found an interesting apartment on their website and just went to their office without an appointment. There was a lively atmosphere of young professionals, and Quentin sat down with me immediately to get it done. The best thing is the quick and clear communication. Quentin knew exactly if the apartment was still available or not, could tell me what I had to do, and he would always answer within minutes on WhatsApp. So in no time I got a visiting date and then the contract.

Christina Dawkins: They are the most dishonest company I have ever come across. They misrepresented themselves and broke multiple laws. They even requested that I refuse to answer questions to law and government representatives to protect the owner who was violating rents rules. To make matter worse, they kept my entire security deposit because I was a foreigner and they knew I didn’t have time to take them to court before leaving the country. RENT FROM LITERALLY ANYONE ELSE BUT URBANE!!!

Bianca Swaan: When moving to Barcelona we heard a lot of crazy/scary stories about agencies that were not responding to messages or not returning the deposit. ChicRoom is not like this AT ALL. Patricia and her team were very responsive. With any question I had regarding the rental, there was always a quick response. I also felt really protected, they always made sure that things went fear between the owner and tenant. Robert Connolly: I contacted about 10 different agencies after moving to Barcelona, Diego from Chicroom was by far the most responsive, and also had the best apartments to view. After reaching out on Thursday, by Monday the next week we had agreed terms with the landlord, signed the contract on Tuesday, and moved in on Wednesday. Can definitely recommend Chicroom, and especially Diego, for any BCN housing needs. Thanks again!

David Morrow: After moving from the US to take up a job in Barcelona, the task of looking for an apartment was quite difficult until I came across this company. Alex immediately arranged suitable viewings which followed exactly what I was looking for rather than wasting my time with unsuitable properties. Extremely professional, quick to correspond, and having the advantage of being bilingual quickly made the process easier. I had a new apartment which was perfect within days. I would recommenced this company to anyone who wants a professional, quick turnaround service and in particular to foreign nationals as Alex is cognizant of the worries and uncertainties that we feel about the basics of renting here. Great company.Highly recommend.
Even Tobiesen: Excellent service! I was looking for long-term rentals in Barcelona, a city that seemingly offered only short-term holiday rentals. As a non-Spanish speaker finding an apartment through other online sites like Idealista was difficult, and trying to coordinate appointments from out of the country added another challenge. Alex was very accommodating in working with my schedule and preferences. I was able to make contact with him, as well as browse a list of potential rentals that he suggested to suit my preferences before even flying into Barcelona. Once in the city, I was presented with multiple rental options in a variety of locations paired with descriptions of the surrounding areas and neighborhoods, so I would know what to expect. Alex was able to handle all the arrangements within the day and a half I was in the city and follow up with the contacts and necessary paperwork after I left as well as answer all questions I might have thought of afterwards. I am extremely pleased with my rental process and interaction from start to finish and would definitely recommend using this agency when looking for any type of real estate option in the city.

After founding the agency, my communication was with Alex,he helped me a lot while I was searching flats out of Barcelona. As I am a non-Spanish speaker person, I was really glad that I found somebody that I could have a clear communication while the flat hunting process. This made my process much smoother and Alex was quite responsive and quick on his returns which was a plus in terms of trustworthiness. Finally, he was quite helpful in translation and answering my concerns and questions with the owner at the same time while we did the contract and paperwork. Hjapon was the perfect real estate for us. They show us different amazing houses until we find ours. They are professional and diligent with the procedures.
Dina Papagiannaki: Stay away!!! If you are a landlord you need to be warned that they only consider as their job finding you a tenant and perform zero verification on the information that they relay to you. Everything they told us about the tenant turned out to be false. They collected zero background information and did not verify anything that they relayed to us regarding our future tenant. Our house has suffered serious damage. You are seriously better off with any other agency. HJapon is only interested in their commission and nothing else.

However when we were ready to terminate the lease, we found Begoña Perez’s approach to be rude, condescending and insulting, which is not what one would expect from an international real estate agency dealing with expat professionals. If your Spanish is limited and you expect to be dealt with in a courteous and civil manner, think twice before considering a property listing managed by this company.

Екатерина Санковская: Second time we trying rent from this company , and twice it’s very ver experience with this company , they took deposit , for reservar apartment and then continue negotiating with other people , they are used our money 5000€ deposit for two weeks, and then sale appointment for much expensive , and two weeks more they didn’t give money back !!! I’m not recommend to work with . 1 star it’s maximum what can I give for this bad work 👎🏼
