Sagrada Familia Toastmasters - Cursos Hablar en Público: what do users think?
Fidos Playground
Fidos Playground: Sagrada Familia was my club for a couple of years. They were my public speaking family, my teachers, my friends and i learnt a lot about how to speak from them in a very safe and friendly environment. I highly recommend them, my speaking skills have improved in my daily life along with my confidence to speak up and to express myself.
AMY DARA HOCHBERG
AMY DARA HOCHBERG: Sagrada Família Toastmasters is a bilingual Spanish & English club with a warm, welcoming, and supportive international group that represents a broad range of professions with the common goal of improving public speaking and leadership skills.
Mario Mera Orellana
Mario Mera Orellana: My personal and professional career has improved since I joined this club.
Marynes Rojas
Marynes Rojas: I have been attending the club for more than a year and I am very happy to have taken the step and left my comfort zone. It is a unique, safe and fun environment where, in addition to practicing speaking in Spanish, you can also practice speaking in English since it is a bilingual club. If you want to practice and develop your public speaking skills, Toastmasters Sagrada Familia is your site, I recommend it 100%
Albert Cervelló
Albert Cervelló: a great and inspiring environment that facilitates learning and encourages you to improve yourself and improve your ability to speak in public. Great companions that support you and from which you can learn. There are speeches in Spanish and English. Then you usually stay for a drink. Ideal for networking too.
Cees Steenkuyl
Cees Steenkuyl: I went as a guest, my first impression has been good. – People are very nice and willing to help you learn to express yourself better in public. Without a doubt, it is a good investment of your time for personal growth, connecting with people of different cultures and levels as a speaker.
Martina Steffens
Martina Steffens: I signed up almost 2 years ago to improve my public speaking skills. I went to see several Toastmasters Clubs, and this was the one I liked the most. Open and international people and everyone is there to help you. You practice and learn to speak in public with constructive feedback and you also learn to give feedback. In addition, Leadership Skills can be improved by taking roles in the Committee. Top!!!
Felipe Sánchez
Felipe Sánchez: I was told at work about this teaching methodology to speak in public and I tried this Club that is close to home and the truth is that it has impressed me. It has a very welcoming and participatory atmosphere and it is a great advantage that there are also sessions in English, 2x1! And highly recommended!
Sergi Montells
Sergi Montells: Toastmasters Sagrada Familia is one of the most emblematic places where you can learn Public Speaking, improve your communication and leadership skills. With a long history and years of history, they have a large group of Club members, where they organize meetings every two weeks, in Spanish and English. I have participated in it, and the treatment and atmosphere is excellent. The first months you will have an assigned mentor who will accompany you in the first steps to become an expert level Public speaker! 😉 You can join a session voluntarily as a listener!

Linguaschools Spanish courses in Barcelona: what do users think?
lillian flores
lillian flores: The trip I made to Spain to study at Linguaschool in Barcelona to study a spanish course was fantastic it has been one of the highlights of my life, for reals. Since I always wanted to go to Spain to study Spanish and Linguaschools helped me to make it happen it was smooth planning with their help. I can’t say enough of the class settings, faculty, and my room accommodations I stayed with a wonderful family the hostess was Anna till this day I am friends on Facebook and remember them dearly. They made me feel like family. I would highly recommend Linguaschools. The teachers and accommodations are extraordinary 🤗💕
Response: Hello Lillian, great pictures!! We are so pleased you had such an unforgetable experience and it seems have made friends for life!!
Paul Tempest
Paul Tempest: I found the experience at Linguaschool transformational. The teachers and staff are superb. I never felt self conscious in class and felt confident the staff would do their best for me. Beyond that, the sense of learning and community here changed my whole Barcelona experience from being an outside tourist to feeling a sense of belonging which impacted my whole stay. The friends will stay with me long after I return. Highly recommend taking as many classes as you can for as long as you can.
Noel Liang
Noel Liang: Best place to learn Spanish in Barcelona! I have been studying here for almost 8 months, the learning environment here is perfect. They have the best and most experienced teachers in the whole of Barcelona. Highly recommend!!!! You will get all the most unforgettable memories here! Peace ✌🏻
Response: That's great news! Thank you for your comments. We are glad to hear that you have such an unforgettable experience!
Katie Ugland
Katie Ugland: I spent 6 months at Linguaschools and had the best experience. The school itself is super cute, the professors are great, and I met such great people through the school! They also had fun activities planned each week which I really enjoyed!
Response: Hi Katie, thank you for your comments! We are very pleased you had such a great time learning Spanish with us!
Deniz A
Deniz A: I followed a language course at Linguaschools during 2 months and improved my Spanish immensely. I really like their method of teaching and all the teachers I have had were amazing, especially (Anne-Mari, Mayka, Marc and Alvaro). I am considering to return to Linguaschools in January for a few more weeks so that I can improve my Spanish even more. Hope to see you soon!
Response: Hello Deniz! Thank you for your comments. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and would love to have you back in January!!
begum akray
begum akray: No doubt to take the courses from LinguaSchools, cause they have the most creative and motivated teachers you are going to have lessons with. And of course as a foreigner you would love to have quality time with people around you and the activities that arranged and well planned for you. So which will give you the chance to keep so many good memories and experiences during your education with LinguaSchools and living in Barcelona. P.S. As a student that had the first half term of 3 months in Madrid, one of my concern about Barcelona was that the city is a Catalan speaking city. So depends on my experiences I would say that generally speaking Catalan in Barcelona is not a big deal while you are learning Spanish with Spanish Speaker Teachers and there are many ways to practise your Spanish by participating to events like "LanguageExchange" that happens in the city. Also public people are very understandable and able to talk to you in Spanish once they understood that you are a foreigner.
Response: Dear Begum, thank you so much for sharing your experience. It was great to have you here in the school. A lot of team members and students will remember your Salsa workshops for ever :) We hope to see you back anytime soon. ¡Un fuerte abrazo de todo el equipo de Linguaschools!
Julia du Marchie Sarvaas
Julia du Marchie Sarvaas: I took classes during 8 weeks and I loved it! First of all the teachers were all very nice and good. I came there without speaking a word of Spanish and I left with being able to express myself in basic Spanish. The first 4 weeks I had classes from 14:30-18:30 and the other 4 weeks i had classes from 9:30-13:30 which I preferred. The school building is beautiful and located very good. I met a lot of amazing people at the school! Also, I liked the activities every week, a chance to explore and meet new people under the guidance of lovely Lena:)). Thank you and hope to come back someday!!!
Response: Thank you Julia! It was a pleasure having you at the school. We are pleased you had such a good experience and met some great people. We hope to see you again!

Speakeasy Spanish School Barcelona: what do users think?
Tami Shaham
Tami Shaham: Ola para todos. I spent two wonderful weeks at Speakeasy Spanish school in Barcelona (25.4-6.5). Why only two weeks? Because that was all the free time I had. I wish I had more. I sincerely recommend Speakeasy to anyone interested in speaking Spanish. The office staff was so helpful and kind. Cristina and Veronica, the best and most professional teachers, introduced us to the language in an easy and fun way, the most. And the best thing, I had the chance to meet wonderful multi nationalities friends who studied with me in class A1. Speakeasy is not just a Spanish school. Sophie, the activities coordinator and Student advisor was always there for any questions. She organized afternoon activities for us to have fun after school and, more important (in my opinion), to meet and socialize with the other students. Thank you, Speakeasy team. I hope to meet again and continue my Spanish education.
Response: Hi Tami. It sounds like you had a wonderful two weeks indeed! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We're always pleased to hear our students speak so highly of their times at Speakeasy. We'll certainly let Cristina and Verónica know how much you appreciated their teaching and Sophie how helpful she was. Thanks again and hope to you see soon. Our doors are always open!
Amanda Aurora
Amanda Aurora: I have done 2.5 months of intensive class with Speakeasy (and some months to go!) and I would totally recommend this school. Here are the top 3 things I happily vouch for: - The staffs had been very helpful (and fast!) even before I enrolled with the school and they continue to provide advice whenever I have some problems (class administration, visa, even for the local admin bureaucracy!) - Intensive class is intense. For a person with 0 Spanish ability (yours truly), it was quite intimidating at first but I have had really good teachers to help me learn and advance. You are allowed to change groups to suit your needs, which I think is good leverage for students to use! - In my opinion, the curriculum is logical. On top of the textbook that we use, the teachers also find creative ways to deliver the topics to students (imagine teaching Spanish grammars in Spanish to people with 0 Spanish abilities) as well as productive exercises. - Extracurricular activities!! Sophie does amazing job with this. I am always impressed with the variation of student activities and trips. They are always well organized and reasonably priced. I really enjoyed the excursions we did and I will join more in the future!
Response: Hi Amanda, thank you for taking the time to leave us this well thought out review. We really appreciate it. Best of luck with your Spanish language learning journey! Look forward to seeing you soon on our Speakeasy activities.
totøro xy
totøro xy: I came to Barcelona for a few months and one of my goals was to learn Spanish. Through the internet I found Speakeasy and I am very happy to have found this school! Not only is it beautifully located in the center... Speakeasy offered me a feeling of family and friendship. This is especially reinforced by the weekly activities where you find many friendships regardless of age or course. The classes are a lot of fun and the professional teachers manage to make even the most complicated grammar understandable and fun with their passion and entertaining way of teaching! My Spanish has improved a lot and I would recommend Speakeasy to everyone. Coming alone to Barcelona, far away from my family was a bit scary but Speakeasy offered me a safe place and a lot of comfort as well as so many memories with people whom I will never forget!
Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this review. We are thrilled to hear that you managed to build friendships through our course and activities - as well as improving your Spanish. Un saludo!
Preston Bottomy
Preston Bottomy: Speakeasy is a fabulous choice for learning Spanish in Barcelona - highly recommend. I’ve been living in Barcelona for a year (intermediate level) and started taking classes to improve my comfort with speaking. I’ve been really impressed with the quality of instruction and it shows in my rapid improvement since starting just one month ago. The school also organizes fun social and cultural outings, which is a great way to meet people in the city. I’m excited to continue my studies with Speakeasy!
Response: Hola, Preston. It's so exciting to hear about your rapid improvement in just a month! Thank you for sharing your positive experience. We're glad you're enjoying the lessons as well as the social outings organized by Sophie. See you in the classroom!
Brittany Lattery
Brittany Lattery: My experience at the school so far is really good! The course does move very fast not going to lie I have found it difficult as I’ve never learnt another language before. However, you can always go back and retake a lesson to fully understand the concepts they are teaching you. There’s also plenty of teachers so if you feel like you aren’t learning from one because of their teaching style- you can always switch to another. The school does a really good job at organizing weekly activities and day trips, so it’s very easy to meet people in the school from all the levels. I’ve been to a few of them and have met people from all over the world! And done things I wouldn’t have the opportunity to do if I were to go myself. Overall I do really like the school and my experience so far. I would even consider coming back one day to touch up on my Spanish!
Response: Hola Brittany, thank you for your honest review! We're so glad that you enjoy the flexibility of being able to go back and retake a lesson. As well as the activities we provide, as we pride ourselves on bringing students together. Nos vemos pronto!
Elizabeth Talley
Elizabeth Talley: I have really enjoyed my time and classes at Speakeasy. My Spanish is progressing really fast and I love my teachers. They also always are planning really fun events which is a great way to practice Spanish and meet cool people! All of the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful with everything including the visa process. I highly highly recommend studying at Speakeasy :)
Response: Thank you so much, Elizabeth! We really appreciate your review.
Emre Erdinc
Emre Erdinc: Speakeasy Barcelona is a 5 star language school! Super professional administration and very helpful! The teachers is also amazing! I would recommend this school for anyone that wants to learn Spanish and at the same time live in beautiful Barcelona, meet new friends and have a lot of fun! They arrange many different activities each week.
Response: Hola Emre, thank you for your review! We're so happy to hear you had a great experience with our teachers. Un saludo!
Eliska D
Eliska D: I just finished 4 weeks of the 30h course and I am safe to say that if you are considering applying to this school, do it! Teachers Ana and Marta are just awesome! The conversation hour with Georgina is great also, you get to practice your Spanish a lot. The only thing I would point out is the business hour, which is not really business because it kind of follows up on the regular conversation and business topics are not really disscused. One week I (we) had Javier and I have to say he was really great!! Came prepared to every lesson and made the lesson structured, with good ideas, topics. Thank you for these amazing 4 weeks and hope to come back soon! ❤️
Response: Hello Eliska. We're so happy to hear you enjoyed your experience with us at Speakeasy. After 4 weeks of intensive classes, we can imagine how well you're able to speak Spanish! Thank you very much for letting us know about all the teachers whose classes you appreciated. The doors are open for your return any time - hope to see you again soon!
Kaja
Kaja: Had a wonderful time there! Learned Spanish better than in school, the teachers were super friendly and the size of the classes are perfect. I really liked the activities of speakeasy, there you have the opportunity to meet new people and visit new places. Can only recommend to go to speakeasy if you want to improve your Spanish skills!
Response: Hola Kaja, thank you for your review! We truly appreciate it. Un saludo!
Alex Frances Long
Alex Frances Long: Speakeasy was a great choice to start my Spanish learning journey. The teachers were amazing and Sophie organises loads of fun excursions and activities to fill your time outside of classes! I’ll definitely be returning to complete the next level of classes soon
Response: Hi Alex! Thank you so much for your feedback. We're happy to hear you had such an amazing experience and started your Spanish learning journey on the right foot! We hope to see you soon!

In the past I’ve often felt nervous speaking Spanish, but Cristina is very encouraging and has pushed me to improve much faster than ever before. Her classes are also fun and she is such a wonderful person that it sometimes doesn’t even feel like studying. I feel really lucky to have her as a teacher and would recommend her to anyone!
Response: Thank you Chelsea! Cristina will be very happy after seeing your comment :). Thanks for recommending us!
Alexander Santos
Alexander Santos: Been attending Olé for 6 months and getting better everyday! The classrooms are very clean, the teachers are all professional and most important of all, the students are limited to small groups for maximum learning. Looking forward to more classes!
Response: Thanks Alex! We appreciate it! You still have more courses so go ahead! ;). You have improved your Spanish a lot and you should be proud of you!

Olga Bogdan
Olga Bogdan: Great school with amazing teachers. I did intensive course 4 hours a day - the lessons were very interesting and diverse, I was never bored and I have learnt a lot. On the first part we were studying more grammar and the second part was focused only on vocabulary and speaking, so the combination was very efficient. I recommend this school a lot! Cristina and Marcos - sois unos cracks ❤️
Response: Many thanks Olga! You have explained our intensive course pretty well :)))). We are glad that you are enjoying the course. Regards
Paulina Nowak
Paulina Nowak: Amazing school in a very centre od Barcelona, just 10 min by walk from Passaig de Gracia. That school was a great choice. When I came for the first time at the end of september 2021, my level of spanish was completely zero. One week ago I finished course on level C1. After less than 10 months I’m able to work in the spanish company. I still have a lot to learn, but every week I’m improving. The teachers are trully passionate about their work and are helping a lot. Special thanks to: Carmen, Cristina, Almu, Marcos and Valerio:) I highly recommend to everyone who wants to learn spanish.
Response: Thank you a lot Paulina! You have done an amazing job getting C1 level. We are really glad that you spent a great time at Olé and considered the school an excellent choice :). Enjoy your holidays! You deserved it!

It was clear that a lot of preparation had gone into the classes and she supplied us with course material each day. The school was very flexible and excellent at communicating. I would highly recommend this tutor and this school. Frances

Michael Figueiredo
Michael Figueiredo: I have been attending Spanish language classes at BCNLip for almost two years now. I highly recommend the school! Both my current and prior professors, Marian and Hernán, are exceptional teachers who have really made me enthusiastic about learning a new language. The school itself is beautiful and modern, with historical elements like exposed brick walls and beamed ceilings. Currently, in the Covid19 era, I have been attending online classes. At first I was nervous about this new form of learning, but it has truly been great. I have also enjoyed making new friends from around the world. I plan on continuing my Spanish classes and in the future, will likely take up another language at this school, too.

Hermik Ohanian
Hermik Ohanian: I attended Expanish in 2019 and 2022. I loved the nice attitude, the friendliness and attentiveness of the teachers and staff. I was sad to hear that the classes for students over 30 years old was separated to another building, but was lucky it happened right after I finished my classes there because I really enjoyed my time with my younger classmates and made good friendship with them.
Response: ¡Hola, Hermik! Thank you for your comment! And for being a loyal recurrent student! :) We are really happy to know you've enjoyed your time with us! About the 30+ school, we've created the new school to better serve the needs of all students, so that we can cater for what they look for in terms of athmosphere, academics, activities :) Hope we get to see you again some day and give it a try :) ¡Un fuerte abrazo!
Christina Freuli
Christina Freuli: I enjoyed my time at Expanish a lot. It was such a good experience and i am so happy that i made the decision to go to this school! I like everything there. The teachers are really nice and help you in every situation. Also it‘s cool that the students only have to fill 80% of their classes. I also got my certificate without any problem! I loved my private classes as well! They were so nice and i learned a lot! I have met so many different kind of people, thank you for that! As well i hadn‘t any problem with my share apartment. The only thing that bothered me was the air conditioner. It was to heavy and the temperature was to low. I know some people who got sick. I got classes in room 1 and it was terrible there. Everybody was freezing. Maybe you will find a way to improve that. But as i said, i love your school and i am glad that i made this experience! Thank you!
Response: ¡Hola, Christina! Thank you very much for your comment! We are really happy to know you've enjoyed your time with us and made new friends! Thank you for your feedback about the air conditioner. I am reporting it so that the staff at the school can work on a solution so that we make sure everybody feel comfortable in their classrooms. Hope we get to see you again some day! ¡Un abrazo!
Luca Scholl
Luca Scholl: The people there were all very friendly and open! The school is beautifully designed and has many rooms. The classes are specified on your skills and does help you to improve your Spanish. This was the 2nd time I‘ve been at Expanish and it’s really worth it!
Response: ¡Hola, Luca! Thank you for such a nice comment! We've loved having you as our student again! Thanks you for keep choosing us! It makes us very happy to know you've enjoyed your time with us! ¡Un fuerte abrazo!
Laura Papiernik
Laura Papiernik: Hello everyone! I’ve chosen to go on a two-week intensive Spanish course with Expanish. I really loved it and my Spanish level has visibly improved. But, from the beginning - the reservation of the course and payment - everything went smoothly. You have everything on their website and it’s all well-described! You can choose homestay and course that suits you best because Expanish has so many options :) I had lessons from 9am to 1pm and then 2 more extra speaking lessons from 2:30 to 4:30pm. During the morning classes we were working with our books, doing grammar, vocabulary and speaking. We were usually ending our classes with speaking games. They were all really fun and they were engaging you to speak. In the afternoon classes we were talking a lot, so I recommend taking them as they really help you improve your conversations in Spanish. We had topics like different traditions in our native countries, food, Spanish history, Spanish books and art in general. Also, our teacher was really open if you wanted to talk about specific topics that you like. Every day after classes you can sign up for various activities. Such as walking tours (Sagrada Familia, Barrio de Gracia, Barrio Gótico, etc.), different word games, food or sightseeing recommendations. During some of the weekends Expanish is organizing all-day trips. If you want to know more details make sure you follow them on Instagram as they are uploading activity schedules every week. So if you want to learn Spanish and learn more about Spanish culture - you should really go on the course with Expanish!!
Response: ¡Hola, Laura! Thank you so much for such a nice and detailed comment! :) We are really happy to know you've enjoy your classes and your overwall experience at the school! We loved having you and hope we get to see you again sometime! ¡Un fuerte abrazo!
Julie Washburn
Julie Washburn: We loved our classes at Expanish! It was one of the highlights of our trip to be able to refine our Spanish skills while being in Spain. I took private lessons with my 3 kids. The teachers and staff were all so kind. They were very understanding when we were running late too!
Response: ¡Muchas gracias, Julie! We loved having you and your kids at our school! And we are really happy to know you've enjoyed you time with us too! Hope we get to see you, Lola, Avery and Carter again in the future... at least to say hi! ¡Un fuerte abrazo!

International TEFL Academy Barcelona: what do users think?
Deepika Iyer
Deepika Iyer: International TEFL Academy Barcelona, is a well known and an eminent institute, located in the heart of the city. They offer both online and in-person classes. I completed my 190 hrs Level 5, 4 weeks intensive TEFL course from ITA, Barcelona in June 2021. The classes with Stephen sir, Kerry ma’am, Chris sir and others have been so worthwhile. They have an amazing way of breaking things down so that they are understandable and not overwhelming. The 4 weeks course has been meticulously planned and the execution by these teachers are perfect. They are very patient and always eager to help. The curriculum has a great mix of both theoretical and practical lessons. They offer a supportive learning environment. As a student myself, I felt pushed to learn and try out new competencies and I was supported at every stage, and in doing so, I gained valuable feedback that helped me grow and improve. I also had the opportunity to deliver both offline and online classes which helped me adapt to both kinds of teaching methods. There were many new teaching methodologies specially for delivering online classes, that I learnt during that time. Stephen sir and Kerry maam are very passionate and dedicated towards their work. They continued to guide me even after the course. Today, I am working as an English language teaching assistant for secondary students in a school in Barcelona. The credit for my success definitely goes to these wonderful teachers. I would highly recommend ITA to anyone who aspires to be a teacher.
Response: Thank you for your very kind words, Deepika.

Rachel S: Exceptional trainers in a fantastic school.
Julie Gomez
Julie Gomez: Amazing experience with some of the best teachers and mentors you will find in this field. They are passionate at what they do and everyday was exciting and challenging. I was given all the tools I needed to start teaching and building my experience. I truly love this place and the people and always grateful for my time there!
Paula Duarte
Paula Duarte: I already held an ESOL PBC (Post Baccalaureate) Certificate from a US University (and am an MA TESOL student of the same University), when I decided to enroll in the International TEFL Academy Barcelona, Spain. Why? You might wonder. Two reasons: 1. Both the ESOL PBC Certification and the MA TESOL are very theory intensive and 2. My ultimate goal was always to teach in Europe. I wanted the perspective and practical experience of being both a student and a teacher in Europe, before I stepped into a classroom as an ESOL teacher and I wanted to do this under the guidance and mentorship of experienced TEFL teachers. Why International TEFL Academy Barcelona? After careful and diligent consideration of various programs, I decided that it fit my needs best. I came into the program with high expectations and was therefore a tough student I think. However, not only did the program meet, but it exceeded my expectations. The practical sessions and feedback from my mentors were by far the most valuable aspect and take-away for me. Regardless of how long the day had been for us all, the feedback was always constructive and thorough, and I took away something from each of my mentors that I currently use in my own classroom. Stephen, Kerry, Rachel, Max and Chris, I can’t thank you enough for your care and dedication in ensuring that your graduate student teachers step confidently into their ESOL classrooms. I am currently a high school teacher in Hungary and my International TEFL Academy Certification has perfectly complimented my previous and ongoing TESOL education. (December 2019 Alum)

TEFL Barcelona: what do users think?
Hana Bajric
Hana Bajric: Had a great experience getting my TEFL certificate at this school! The owner and teachers were all very professional while also creating a very welcoming and comfortable school/classroom environment. They also took great care of us students even after we had obtained our certificates, leaving their door open for those of us who stayed on to live and work in Barcelona and always being willing to help/guide us in our teaching jobs and everything else you encounter when living in a new country. The school’s owner is exceptional and the teachers are wonderful... I have such great memories of this school and I’m very glad this is where I chose to do my TEFL! I felt so taken care of!
Pip Manley
Pip Manley: I remember my time studying at TEFL Barcelona very fondly. Though I´d already been teaching for a few years when I did the course, in addition to giving me a formal qualification, it also helped me build on the skills and experience I already had. I found the tutor and peer-reviewed lessons particularly helpful, in terms of having external feedback on my teaching. It helped me more clearly identify both my strengths and weaknesses and also to think about how I could work on those weaknesses. On top of this, our tutors were always friendly, approachable and helpful and created a very warm and enjoyable atmosphere for all of us, at the school. Definitely a worthwhile venture and a supportive environment.
christina nico
christina nico: I had been teaching for a few years before I actually decided to become TEFL qualified, and I was recommended to study at TEFL Barcelona. I studied for one very intense month in August 2018, and it was so much fun (but hard work too!). I learned so much, not just from the training and coursework etc, but also from the teachers. Erwin and Stephen were so professional and thoughtful, and helped us achieve our goals as teachers. Thank you! 5 stars!
Gül Arslan
Gül Arslan: It was a pleasure to do my CertTesol course! I am now confident in my teaching and knowledgeable of the langugae thanks to my amazing tutors. The application process was great, had a smooth transition to Barcelona. Thanks for your support along the way. Highly recommend!
Sonya Morgan
Sonya Morgan: I will say my experience at TEFL Barcelona was probably one of the best I’ve had in my life. Didn’t regret it one day. The wonderful friendships, the teaching methods I was able to learn. I never taught anyone before. The staff was great! If you want to learn about teaching English abroad, I would suggest them.
Lois Gibbs
Lois Gibbs: I really enjoyed my time with TEFL Barcelona and for me it was the best way to start a chapter in Barcelona. The teaching was brilliant and although it could have felt daunting to step into teaching straight after the course, the support from Erwin and the team was excellent and led to me finding a variety of classes I loved teaching, and I found a good balance of work and play in Barcelona for the two years I lived there. The course organisers communicated clearly before, during and after the course, helping us to find somewhere to live and work etc. The neighbourhood is a friendly one and a nice location. If you are considering a TEFL course, I hope you jump in with both feet and enjoy your time in this magical place as much as I did. (Watch out for those pick pockets, though, especially on the metro... even magical places have their downfalls, and Bcn is no exception!)
Kat Pro
Kat Pro: I am happy to recommend Erwin as a teacher trainer. I studied with him and his colleague Jeff more than 10 years ago and this training proved invaluable to me. I think there was good balance of theory and practice and homeworks were really useful. Both trainers were professional and diplomatic at the same time. I also loved that the group was small and international, I think I improved my English, French and Spanish then. My TEFL certificate has helped me a lot as I could build a career as an English teacher instead of working in an office which I hated. I also was able to earn my degree in Psychology. From Russia with gratitude, Kate

Chloe Thomas
Chloe Thomas: I’m so glad I chose Cactus to start my Spanish learning journey. From total beginner who could barely say “Hola!”, after a few short months I was able to converse with more ease with locals in the town where I live in Spain. I cannot recommend my teacher, Marta, enough! She was amazing and I talk about how great a teacher she is to all of my friends. I’ve got a lot of compliments from my Spanish friends and colleagues on how fast my Spanish improved, and it’s all thanks to Cactus! I would definitely recommend this as a place to learn Spanish. It’s more than what you learn in traditional exam class settings - you learn to actually communicate and have real conversations with people. I always looked forward to my lessons and really enjoyed speaking Spanish with Marta and my classmates for the entire duration of the classes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Zulfiya Seuret
Zulfiya Seuret: The school is really good, especially for those who would like to enhance their Spanish knowledge. I want to compliment Marta, who is currently my teacher. She is an amazing teacher who makes the lessons very interesting and explains well the grammar. I was before in another school from Barcelona and I can say honestly that the teaching quality including implemented tools and materials are here way much better than in other school. So, do not hesitate, start learning Spanish with Marta and you will notice definitely the subsequent progress !
Jackie | Andorra Travel Service
Jackie | Andorra Travel Service: Marta is an excellent teacher and the classes are tailored to the students needs. Small class sizes with an easy going atmosphere. Have tried lots of language schools and different lessons but this one is the best so far😀😀
Victoria A
Victoria A: CactusBCN Spanish is a great language school, very organised & friendly service. Marta is a fantastic teacher, providing clear grammar & vocabulary lessons along with lots of opportunity to practice speaking. Highly recommended!
Lauris Weber
Lauris Weber: I enjoyed the private classes with Marta. The topics were varied and questions were asked which required the use of different verb tenses. There were some minor issues with the internet quality but overall, a good learning experience. I will enrol for more classes.
Mirela Angelova
Mirela Angelova: I really like the friendly and in the same time personal approach of our teacher Irene as we are a beginner group and it is crucial to keep us motivated but also keep up with well balanced material for each class. She is very kind and understanding and makes learning a language really fun!
Bronte Wiltshire
Bronte Wiltshire: I love going to Cactus! Marta is a really experienced, communicative teacher with a lot of patience, and she always uses engaging content that I feel is matched to the group’s interests. There is a lot of speaking practice, but the teachers try really hard to accommodate your specific needs too (like if you want to focus on written Spanish, they will give you extra activities and are always there to help). If you’re searching for a Spanish school, Cactus BCN is amazing. They’ll especially help you to improve confidence and fluency when speaking. Plus they are a small business run by people who are passionate about what they do and who really want to be there, so it feels good to support their school!
Response: Thank you, Bronte :)
Patricia Rieger
Patricia Rieger: I attended classes at Cactus for 7 weeks between the end of January, through February into March of 2020. For me it was an excellent fit. The class was very small 4 to 6 students. For me the fact that my class had mature students was a plus. As expected new grammar was continually introduced and daily discussions were designed to put it into practice. The topics of discussion offered contemporary expressions with a broad range of vocabulary being used in daily life in Barcelona in particular and more widely in Spain. The atmosphere was relaxed yet charged with the expectation to participate in discussions. I feel that I learned a great deal. I recommend it strongly. Excellent faculty, Well organized. Marta was my teacher and she was professional, prepared and efficient.
Response: Thank you Patricia!
Barton Sherbon
Barton Sherbon: After researching many language schools in Barcelona CactusBcn seemed like the best value Spanish language school. The school is very small with only two teachers and small class sizes. Marta is amazing and by far the best language teacher I have had. The teaching style involves a lot of conversation and interaction between the teacher and students in a very relaxed environment, which is perfect for learning conversational Spanish quickly. I highly recommend CactusBcn and I will definitely take more classes there in the future.
Response: How good! Thanks for your comment Bart! :)

Don Quijote School: what do users think?
Simbatrails
Simbatrails: The school is good! But the student residence in carrer de la diputacio is the worst you could think of.. unfriendly employees, bad service, no privacy and for adults just unrecomendable! They impose rules upon adults after arrival, if i pay money for my stay i dont want to be treated like a kid and be informed about rules before i book the residence, so it was my worst stay ever!! Being charged a fine without being told due to not comitting to the rules is not the way guest should be treated, i just hated that place and was glad when i moved out. DONT BOOK THE STUDENT RESIDENCE!
John Wing
John Wing: I studied at the School for three weeks in July 2015. I was initially sceptical about the school due to a number of previous bad reviews but thoroughly enjoyed my time there and highly recommend it. An important consideration of when to study is the time of year you go - it was the middle of summer when I went so it was very hot and the school had a lot of uni students. I am sure that at other times the weather would be more pleasant (it was 35 degrees so nice but a little hot) and there would be a lot less students (a bad thing). The school is air conditioned and has a lot of class rooms so it was well established to manage the summer period but be prepared to sweat anytime you are outside and most accommodation (other than hotel) will most likely not have airconditioning. I stayed in host family accommodation for one week and then a student flat for the second two weeks so have some perspective on both. I wanted to stay in a flat for the entire period but as it was summer there wasnt a room available until the second week. For the host family accommodation I was staying with an old lady and one other student in Poble Sec which was about a 20 min walk. The accommodation was small but had everything I needed. I couldnt speak any Spanish at the beginning of my stay and the lady couldnt speak a word of English so it was an interesting experience. I would recommend homestay for people who have some level of spanish proficiency or who were staying for a longer period of time so that they could have a more engaging stay with their host family. The student flat was quite large and well furnished. I enjoyed staying there and getting to know the other students I lived with. However, some of the other student flats were not as large or nice and I heard that a couple of people were in rooms which didnt have windows. Regardless, if students were not happy with their accommodation they could easily speak to the school and change rooms / accommodation type (if available). There is a test during the morning of the first day and this is used by the school to assess your ability to place you in a class. This is obviously also influenced by the ability of the other students and how to best group students. There were a lot of people there whilst I was there (at least 150+) so it was easier for the school to group people. I was initially placed in a class which was above my ability but you can engage with the admin staff and change classes quite easily. The teachers were very good, the syllabus was well structured and thorough and I learnt a lot whilst I was there. The facilities within the school were very good. There were 25+ classrooms over three floors with a large central common area and outdoor area. There were also food and drink machines. Finally, Barcelona is a great city to study in. Whilst Barcelona is within Catalonia the fact that the people spoke Catalan as well as Castilian did not detract from my ability to learn or engage with them - in fact I found it very interesting learning about the different regions, particularly as there are ongoing political debates about Catalan trying to gain independence. There is a lot to do in and around Barcelona and whether you see the sights through school tours or by yourself it will take a long time to see it all. I think that if you are planning on staying for a short or extended period of time (+1 month) then Barcelona would be a great location. I only wish I was able to stay for longer and see my spanish improve even more. I would love to study through the school again.
Marly 22
Marly 22: Really a great school to learn spanish! the teachers are amazing. I had a great time here and I can assure you that you learn a lot and can get around the town with no problem after the classes.
Daniel Yusty
Daniel Yusty: Thanks a lot! It was a unique experience! I loved all teachers and staff! We will came back!
E. Glez
E. Glez: My Swiss friend came here to study and also hired a room (which was provided in the same academy) from Switzerland. I paid about 700 euros a month (when the normal is 350-400 euros), for a shameful and tiny room where the bed barely fit in a shared apartment for 5 people. In addition, it was far from the center and everything failed (shower, washing machine...), having to be replaced. He had paid for it in advance and felt very ripped off. He told me to write a review for him so people would know about his accommodation. Of course, he says that the language school was very good and modern, nothing to do with the other parallel "hoax". In my opinion, as happens with renting in Barcelona, they take advantage of the tourist.
Response: We feel that your friend has these feelings about our hosting service, you can contact our customer service help@donquijote.org who can help you with all the difficulties you have had during your stay.

Karen DC
Karen DC: When I first contacted L4L about arranging a week of 1 to 1 Spanish teaching for my 2 children during a family holiday in Barcelona, I was immediately impressed by their professionalism and enthusiasm for putting together a programme. We were not disappointed. The school environment is very pleasant, and we received a warm welcome. The experienced teachers put a lot of effort into creating interesting and engaging classes (which even included an introduction to Flamenco one day!), as well as being kind and empathic. The children were happy to come to classes, and I think it really contributed to their appreciation and enjoyment of this wonderful city. Thanks again to L4L.
Response: It was a truly pleasure to have you Karen! Thank you for your message and hopefully see you very soon. Olé!

Raymond Starr: I loved attending that school was lots of fun to learn spanish with a small class doing lots of fun exercises and games to learn while enjoying my time! the teacher was Barcelonian very energetic lovely personality! Learnt many things from her about the Spanish expressions and Spanish culture! It felt like I was among friends! all the staff was consistantly nice and very helpful I highly recommend it.
Response: Thanks for your review Ray! We enjoyed having you in our school and are glad you had a great experience!
Richard Davie
Richard Davie: Easily the most modern and nicest school in Barcelona - it is bright, fresh, comfortable and every classroom has mac computers. The Spanish teachers are great - very friendly, approachable and they limit the group sizes to make the lessons as productive as possible. Highly recommended!
