El King of Magic it's a magic theater-museum, associated with the shop of the same name, specialized exclusively in prestige and illusionism shows, located in the La Ribera district, a few steps from the Palau de la Musica Catalana. The theater-museum

The 120-seat museum theater offers a series of magic shows each week, typically Wednesday through Saturday, with a large rotation of magicians and magicians. Although the shows are generally in Spanish or Catalan, no particular knowledge of the language is required to be able to follow the prestige numbers.


All the shows are suitable for families: you can check the upcoming dates, and possibly buy tickets online, by accessing the website of the Theater. The Museum of Magic, with a small exhibition of historical material, posters and various games used over the years.

The shop

Founded in 1881, the shop of the Rei de la Màgia was one of the first to be specialized in the supply of articles for magic and sleight of hand, constituting a real point of reference in the sector. Over the years, the store has continued to grow its fund with donations and acquisitions; this fund is currently visible in the theater, about ten minutes away from the shop. The sale of the prestige material also includes the explanation of the trick related to what was purchased.

How to get to the Rei de la Màgia

Il shop it is located in Carrer Princesa, 11, a few steps from the museum center of Carrer Montcada, with the Picasso Museum, the Museu de Cultures del Món and the MEAM in the space of a few tens of meters. The closest metro stop is Jaume I, on line 3.

Il theater-museum instead it is located in Carrer de les Jonqueres, 15, very close to the Palau de la Musica Catalana. It can be reached by metro arriving at the Urquinaona stop, on line 1.


Working Time

The theater starts its shows at various times, typically at 21pm, plus any Sunday sessions at 00pm. The museum, on the other hand, is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 12:00 to 11:00 and from 14:00 to 16:00. During the months of July and August it is closed on Sunday mornings. The theater box office also opens one hour before the start of the shows.

Tickets and entrances

The price to enter the museum is 5€, reduced to € 3 for children under 14 and pensioners. The prices of the entrance ticket to the theater vary according to the magician and the show, however it remains around € 15, with discounts for pensioners and reductions of 50% for children under 14.
